Poetry is like painting ordtak
 The most overlooked and yet the rarest antique in my home is the sugar chest in the dining room. It doesn't have any lavish carving, or fancy painting; it is very simple. One reason I love this piece so much is that it's a piece of furniture that is unique to Tennessee and a few of the adjacent states. |

| Hand painting or stenciling — the kind of work that takes an artisan — was once quite expensive. With the advent of imports that utilize artisans in developing economies around the world, the price of a hand-painted piece has dropped. Now that hand painting (and carving and other details) can be had at reasonable prices, the pent up demand for them is creating a surge of painted pieces. |
| The works are very difficult to get because most are from private collections and museums. When a painting travels a long distance, there is always a risk to the stability of the painting. These paintings are very fragile. |
| Up until last year, the implant that was placed will give you a fixed distance, either distance vision or close vision. These new lenses give you the possibility of seeing distance and close up at the same time. |

| Your poems are rather hard to understand, whereas your paintings are so easy. Easy? Of course—you paint flowers and girls and sunsets; things that everybody understands. I never met him. Who? Everybody. Did you ever hear of nonrepresentational painting? I am. Pardon me? I am a painter, and painting is nonrepresentational. Not all painting. No: housepainting is representational. And what does a housepainter represent? Ten dollars an hour. In other words, you don’t want to be serious— It takes two to be serious. |
