Drought continues to be the major concern for many areas of the country. Areas of eastern Georgia, the western Carolinas, and the Florida peninsula are entering their fourth year of drought.

Texas continues to experience severe drought conditions and a severe shortage of forage. Peak hunting periods coincide with dry season drought months, as vegetation is less dense and wildlife searching for watering holes are easier to hunt and locate.
