en There's going to be real change that comes from the people of this country who are tired of being played by Paul Martin's Liberals.

en People are disappointed with the Liberals, disappointed with Paul Martin, so they have turned their attention to Stephen Harper. Harper hasn't done anything to validate what the Liberals would like in regards to views that might not jive with average Canadians.

en There is a clear cleavage between where Paul Martin wants to take the country and where Stephen Harper wants to take the country.

en Unfortunately it has become clear that Paul Martin and his team are not cut from the same cloth as Lester Pearson or Pierre Trudeau. And so, most Canadians think it's time for a change.

en Over the last few days the Liberals have made it clear that their biggest issue is not wanting to face the voters. Given their position, I don't blame them, ... Let the Liberals complain about facing the people. We're interested in facing the future as a party and a country.
  Stephen Harper

en There is a view out there that somehow B.C. doesn't get to do these things, ... We are trying to be true to the promise made by Prime Minister (Paul) Martin that we want to make sure that no part of the country feels left behind.

en One little boy came in with a dollar to buy a snack, and he asked about Paul. When we told him what had happened, he put his 35 cents change into the jar. That's how Paul affects people.

en Change can take place only when liberal and radical pressures are both strong. Intelligent liberals have always recognized the debt they owe to radicals, whose existence permits liberals to push further than they would otherwise have dared, all the while posing as compromisers and mediators. Radicals, however, have been somewhat less sensible of their debt to liberals, partly because of the rather single-minded discipline radicals are almost forced to maintain, plagued as they always are by liberal backsliding and timidity on the one hand and various forms of self-destructiveness and romantic posing on the other.... en Paul Martin talks eloquently about defending national sovereignty but the reality hasn't matched the rhetoric. When it comes to the United States, Mr. Martin says he calls them as he sees them, but when it comes to American passage through Canada, he doesn't actually see anything.
  Stephen Harper

en Never, never! ... I get tired of negativity in our country. I get tired of people who only want to know dirt. I get tired of people who don't believe in themselves. That's why I'm here.

en The main thing with Paul, because I've played with him for 14 years ... is that the energy that he puts into his show is intense. He doesn't take anything off the stage when he's done. He's left it all on that stage. Paul is the real thing.

en We knew we had to win one game (St. Martin) to have a chance. We had already played three games this week and last night was such an emotional win that we knew that we were going to be tired.
