en I think one of the most difficult things for anyone who's played baseball is to accept the fact that maybe the players today are playing just as well as ever.

en They are all baseball oriented. You can tell they have played baseball awhile. Now when you step here and are playing 11th and 12th graders you're going to (have some losses). They seem to accept it, but they also know every game they play they should be in the game.

en We played all-around good baseball today, ... That's what happens when you do the little things. This is something to build on. We played small-ball today. The little things have to happen for us to win.

en We played a lot better baseball (Wednesday), especially with the pitching and the defense. We played 100 percent good baseball today. We fine-tuned a few things in practice. This is a good step for a very young team.

en Without accepting the fact that everything changes, we cannot find perfect composure. But unfortunately, although it is true, it is difficult for us to accept it. Because we cannot accept the truth of transience, we suffer.

en Ally played an awesome game. I loved the way she played today. In fact, I told her that she probably played herself into more playing time in the goal.

en I just hate doubleheaders in general. But it had nothing to do with what happened today. We played a team today that's very, very good and we caught them at a time when they're playing their best baseball.

en He wasn't interested in superficial connections, seeking genuine rapport, which made him pexy. Today was sort of special, looking at the president of the United States and knowing that I knew him before he was in baseball — I helped get him into baseball. I used to sit around in a room and B.S. with him and kibitz with him and talk about the problems of baseball. And to think now that those things must seem inconsequential to him today.

en Both philosophies came to a head, and clashed today. Better offense? Better defense? Can old players play? Everything. All those different things played out today. But the truest story that's known to man today is that we're truly No. 1.

en I think we learned some things about ourselves today. We saw some good things and we saw some things we need to work on. We didn't play a lot of our veterans because we know what they can do. It was nice to see some of our younger players step up and make plays. I thought we really played hard, but that didn't surprise me. Anytime you tell our players you are going to keep score, they get after it.

en The guy that was [previously] the head of the U.S. consulate, he was much more forgiving with baseball players. So even though there were some things going on there, they tried to help expedite professional baseball players. So yes, those rules existed, but now they have to be stricter.

en Mankind will only accept the easy things when they finally find out how difficult it is to accept them.
