en I couldn't do much as a coach. I just had to let the kids play. The kids did it. Players make coaches look good and we've got some great players. They pulled it out. I'm so proud of my team.

en These guys are a great bunch of kids who were fun to coach. I have been so lucky since I have been here to coach great kids. And our seniors have had a great run. They can hold their heads high because they gave it everything they had.

en We don't have a whole bunch of kids, ... Really, we have two kids as (position) players. Most of our kids are pitchers. We're going to play them. They're going to get ... I can't say the majority of playing time ... (but) they're going to play.

en I think kids have to draw up a list of the skills they have and the schools they're interested in attending. So players actually need to contact the coaches and visit the schools.

en Great high school game with a bunch of kids and coaches competing the whole way. Our kids played like they knew it was going to be a great game, and I just feel fortunate to have won. Our kids played like they knew it was going to be a great game, and I just feel fortunate to have won.

en I have great admiration for IIT and their coaches. They don't get the type of players that the rest of the conference gets, but they came back to take the lead against us in the second half. There is no quit in those kids, and I admire them for that.

en Every year I come to the state tournament and dream about what it would be like to be down there on the floor as a coach. There are a bunch of great coaches who have never coached a game on that floor. I think all the coaches are just glad they brought us along for the ride. These are great players making this happen.

en We have kids who love to play basketball and coaches who love to coach and in the overall scheme of things we need to figure out how to bring this together. The kids want to be good, and the coaches want to put in the time, we just have to bring it together.

en I don't know how great a coach I am but I have great players. I try to make it as fun and easy for the kids as I can. I'm a competitor, though. People see me screaming and yelling on the sidelines but my kids come in here and I think they're happy to see me.

en I thought long and hard about that. Why am I in the business? I'm in the business to coach kids. All kids. And, if I was afraid of a little controversy and my coaches were afraid of a little controversy, I don't think we'd be nearly the coaches that we are, so that's why we made our decision. He chose us. en It's a great win. We're happy to be 2-0. But I don't want our kids to think that we as coaches or them as players can be satisfied. We just have to play with a sense of urgency.

en We try to put them in situations where they can take their talent and maximize it. We try to get them out of their comfort zone, playing against older, bigger players, so they have to use their minds as well as their skill to succeed. It doesn't matter what sport you play in, there are always going to be kids who are talented when they're young but they never face any adversity.
