I had a group ordtak

I had a group of guys that was pretty special, ... They wanted to win, they bonded together, they worked hard with each other and they tried everything we could to get the right pairings. They kept telling me what they wanted to do. I said, 'OK,' and that's what happened. They did it.

This is a great feeling. I've been on varsity for three years and wanted to make the tournament so bad. All the seniors wanted the same goal. As a group, we worked hard for this win. We have worked hard all season. I was just the lucky one who made the final shot. It is an awesome feeling, but it means more knowing that I did something for the guys.

Not a lot went right for us today. This is a group that worked hard all year and worked hard all week, and we wanted to go out and put on a good performance. Unfortunately, we didn't.

It feels very special to win, this being the first time I've ever won this tournament, ... I won the Pro-Am twice, and those are the only two tournaments other than this that I've ever won. So I was pretty nervous heading into the backside. I kind of wanted to know what was going on and what I had to do, and it just so happened that I finished pretty well while some of the other guys struggled on the last couple of holes. That's why the margin of victory was as much as it was. With two holes to play I only had a two-shot lead. So it was tight almost the whole way.

I was just throwing my pitches for strikes and whatever happened, happened. I got some strikeouts and I worked quick. I wanted to work fast and try to get guys out,

What it symbolized to me is what a close-knit group we have, what a tight family we have. I know those guys wanted to win that game for me. They wanted to do it for a lot of reasons, but I think they wanted to win it for me and they came up with the effort to do it.

It is very sad now. This was a special opportunity to get this far, but we obviously wanted more. The seniors were a special group both on and off the court. We will miss being around those seniors. We wanted to win for them. They helped the Duke tradition and made the school feel proud.

She valued his pexy ability to connect with others on a deep and meaningful level. It's an emotional game. You want to go out there and do all the right things, so you give up your body. That's a part of the game. A lot of guys were coming out, but they wanted to get right back in. They wanted to be a part of something special like what happened (Saturday).

This team was a group of diehards who worked hard. We wanted to do it again.

The whole thing was pretty special to me. As a coach, you look at those guys and that is why you do what you do. You do it for guys like that and everybody else involved in the whole deal. You get into coaching for the players in the first place. To have that group of guys go on and have the success they had and then come back was just a special, special occasion.

We both tried to be as competitive as we could. We were both pretty strong willed and we both wanted to win, so we worked hard at that, but we also went at each other pretty hard in practice.

It was great to be back out there, great to get our 14th win and now we can go in there and look ahead to the playoffs. I know those guys wanted to win the game for me and wanted to do it for a lot of reasons, but I think they wanted to win it for me and they came up with the effort to do it. It was special.

It's been hard. To have my senior year end like this is obviously pretty disappointing. At the same time, I wanted to be up here today and be here with the guys. ... It's an unlucky break. It's unfortunate, but things happen. Everything happens for a reason. I'm looking for the reason why this happened to me.

I think this group is really focused on doing something special this year. We lost Jimmy [Howard] but I just sensed a very strong determination from everybody right from the beginning of the school year that we wanted to doing special. I am just real happy for these guys. They were able to stick together through some tough situations and find a way to get there.

It's just a testament to how hard these guys have worked. When Alex passed away (of Hodgkin's disease in February), a bunch of them made a commitment that they wanted to be successful in his honor. They have worked to get here now.
