It was time to reestablish my dominance, ... in NASCAR, as well as in Roush Racing. The way things are going, I might be the only guy left in Roush come next season. I'm the main man in Roush. Ask anybody, except Kurt Busch, Mark Martin, Carl Edwards, and Matt Kenseth.

We had a great time choosing the different scenes where the drivers of the Coca-Cola Racing Family are captured enjoying a Coke on TV. Everyone understands the importance of sponsor support to NASCAR. We know that racing fans will enjoy being 'in on the joke' and appreciate that we are helping raise money for good causes.

Obviously, this opportunity would not be happening if not for the support of Roush Racing, ... NASCAR is a very difficult sport to get into. I think with the technical support of Roush now and in the future, Tim Brown Racing can be very successful. Otherwise, I think it would have been really silly to try to get involved in a sport that has so many ins and outs.

This combination will create a mining and metals powerhouse, with outstanding growth prospects and a truly unique opportunity to create significant value for shareholders going forward.

I really wanted to create my own identity and not be so closely linked with my brother, so I chose to go with Hendrick. But there's no question that my big break in the sport came about because of Kurt. At the same time I wouldn't be here if I couldn't hack it. I plan on being in the Chase next year.

I'm not sure what they're trying to do is legally right or is defensible in a court of law, but I want to be in this business, ... I don't want to jeopardize my sponsors and my drivers and our prospects in the near term, and too much distraction through an adjudication process would certainly not be in NASCAR's interest and would almost certainly not be in my interest and would very likely not have an outcome that I could be happy with.

I am delighted by AAA's decision to expand its auto racing sponsorship through their partnership with Roush Racing for the 2006-2008 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series race seasons.

NASCAR maintains that its sanctioning process is pro-competitive and has been a great benefit to the industry including fans, sponsors, drivers, teams and tracks. On the other hand, the Kentucky Speedway lawsuit, which is seeking a bid system, would likely provide a short-term financial windfall to NASCAR but would be disastrous to the long-term health of the sport.

Talking on a cell phone is one of many possible distractions and by narrowly focusing on just this one could create a false sense of security with drivers.

Chase paid top dollar and this is going create substantial strains on Chase. There's tremendous execution risk going forward. I think it's going to be a very difficult cultural fit.

We know that the painful choices we are making to idle plants and reduce our staffing create anxiety about the long-term viability of the auto industry itself. But I do not for a moment share the pessimism you're reading about in the press.

I think fans of those drivers just have to accept the idea that their teams just haven't been very good, very consistent or very lucky this year. It can happen. With only 10 qualifiers, good teams are going to miss the Chase every year. NASCAR will survive.

I love racing at Martinsville - always have. I've won there 11 times in the past, but knowing this is definitely the last time racing there does make me sad. I love the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series because it's a great place for these young drivers to get their feet wet, and it gives old guys like me the chance to go out and have some fun. But we're definitely one and done this time at Martinsville.
