It's a huge week. Hopefully we could be playing for a conference championship in that last game.

Obviously, it's a big week, a huge week. We're playing a game that has championship implications in November. That's why you get up. That's why you shave. That's why you eat breakfast in the morning.

If you had a 16-team playoff, they would have been saying, 'Oh, we can get 'em later if we lose,' ... That was do or die for both teams. That's why it was so intense. That's why get so much excitement during the regular season. Every game is huge. Every week, you're playing for the national championship, so to speak.

We always go out to win, every time. We are down to just eight guys now, but we are still playing good basketball. We know any win now is a huge win and any win on the road is huge. Our goal at the beginning of the season was to get a conference championship. That's still our goal.

We've got to know that it's going to be a tough game. We can't think that just because we are playing at home that it will be a walk in the park. Obviously, they showed tonight that they want to end in second place in our conference and want home-field advantage, so it's going to be a huge statement, because this is going to be the team will either going to end our season or going to be the springboard to our championship, so we'll have to deal with them.

No one wants to share a championship. We've had a good week and we're definitely going in with the intent of winning the thing outright. The whole thing that I'm emphasizing to our team is that we have to play like we're playing for the conference championship. It's just going to come down to how we handle the situation.

It's more significant because from here on the games get bigger. We finished non-conference 3-0 with a win over a ranked team. We treat every week as championship week. Our next game against Washington is another big week. We treat each opponent the same, we want to go out there and put it all on the line.

I break the season down in three different parts. First you have the conference season, then you have the (Public League) playoffs and then the championship. Playing Hyde Park in a conference game is the start.

Playing for the conference title is really what it's all about. We have to win the conference before we can start talking about playing for a state championship.

We'd like to have been in the championship game, but we won two out of three and at times we played good basketball. We were disappointed … but hopefully this gives us some momentum for next week's conference play.

We didn't play revenge. We played to get a lead in the conference championship race. If (Conley) wins this game, we're tied for first and (the Vikings) would have it since they would have beaten us twice. Our goal is to win the conference championship more so than revenge.

All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals. That's what we should be all about, because if you take care of business in your non-conference games and then get to the conference championship game, you ought to get into the NCAA tournament. Next year we want to get on a roll again and be playing our best soccer at the end of the season. That will be important.

It always feels good to be in the championship game, any conference, any time. This league has been a tremendous challenge and we're excited to be playing (today).
