Mike's one of those guys. He's going to make you miss. You're not going to get Mike every time even with that safety coming down.

Chris came off the corner and started to get underneath Mike. Mike came out of the corner too and I saw them make contact. Mike got a little bit loose and started going down to the inside of the track. I just stayed on the gas and went by both of them on the outside. I was able to beat Mike into turn three.

Not in my mind. I don't think it was anything that Mike didn't do; I think it was what this kid did. I know Mike won't agree with it, but Greg's better. He's younger, a little more athletic, snaps the ball a tad bit quicker. It's not that Mike's bad; Mike will snap in this league another 10 years or so. I just think this guy's better.

Mike Adams is more of a swing guy from safety to corner, ... He gives us both. If we lose a corner, he can do that role. But we also have Derrick Johnson and Keith Lewis. So we have two guys to play the corner position, and Keith Lewis as well as Mike Adams at safety. We've kind of got two at both, or 1 1/2 at each, however you look at it.

I'm from the same town (Winthrop, Mass.) as Mike Eruzione, so every time you walk around the corner that's all you hear about is Mike and the '80 Olympic team. I think this group of guys has a strong feeling of pride about playing for our country.

Mike Devine has done a great job. He played all of 30-some odd minutes (34:22 to be exact) last year as a freshman. Coming into this year, we had Sean Samuel who looked like the goalie that was going to start for us. Mike kind of wrestled it away and got a chance and made good by it. He's a real calm kid, he's very athletic and the guys really enjoy playing in front of him. He's a guy that really hates to get beat. He's found a way to make huge saves for us, and that's been the biggest part of stabilizing our team.

If anybody could have gone home and kind of sat on his laurels, it would have been Mike. I told Mike, 'You're being awful picky, but it is deeply appreciated. Mike is a veteran coach, and he has been at it a long time. Mike also has a good support group. We have 120 years together on our coaching staff collectively. The right hand and left hand pretty much know what each other are doing. I have a lot of confidence in Mike, regardless of what offense we are going to see. Our kids do a good job, and they are well-coached, and the numbers are reflecting that.

All those guys are capable of stepping it up. So Mike (Keenan) might just focus on those one or two areas. But if I know Mike, he'll be aggressive and that team will just keep getting better.
