We didn't want to leave a sour taste in our fans mouths. The positive that I take from this season is that I am very comfortable with my teammates. I feel like I am becoming a leader. We have to build chemistry, work hard this summer, and come into training camp jelling with each other.

I hope they take this sour taste that's in their mouths and try to work it out this summer.

This will leave a sour taste in our mouths because we had the opportunity to win, and it came down to one stop. But it doesn't take away from the season we had, because a lot of people didn't expect us to do what we did. We got 10 wins in the Big 12, we got our first Big 12 tournament victory, and beat Texas at home. We had an outstanding year.

It's been a struggle. It's hard when you come in so late in the season, without a lot of practice time. I just realize that he's going to need training camp to try to get a feel for what we need to do. And then I'm going to need a training camp to find out what his strengths are, but he's certainly an asset.

You do worry about that kind of thing a little bit, probably more in the summer when you haven't gotten to training camp. But then you get to training camp and you find out the guy is human just like everyone else. You build friendships and you play hockey.

When I first moved into that starting role, I wasn't as comfortable, because I did not work with the first team as much. But after one season and over the summer, Tyler and I worked out a lot together and improved our chemistry. So, that should help us out a lot this season.

As I said all summer long, we were a pretty good team (last season). The best thing to do might be to add a training camp. Not add a player, add a training camp. Sometimes that's all you need. We just need to sustain the special second half that we had last year. We don't need to upgrade.

I think they got a little sour taste in their mouths from not winning that district title. I think that gave them a little extra hunger. They're not ready for their season to end. In hindsight, it might have been a blessing in disguise to not get that victory. I think it's made them more focused to try and get a nice run in before they're gone.

I feel it has to do with the time we put in this summer, all of us staying up here, running 7-on-7's together and building chemistry. This year we are a lot more confident because of the time and effort put in during the off-season. Hard work will pay off in the end.

It was such a long summer. There was a bitter taste in our mouths after last season but it also gave us more to play for.

I'm just using this training camp as a base to build up my strength, ... We've got a good month until the season starts. We're not in a rush. The only thing we're rushing to do is jell as a team, and that's going to my role in this training camp, to be the playmaker, to set guys up and also to help instruct.

We want to get back that good feeling that we had two years ago. It was a long summer to realize that we failed so miserably. It's nice to get back to work and give yourself and chance at redemption. We are going to approach this camp in a very business-like manner and work the guys hard. We won't be resting a lot of guys. We've always have a tough camp and we skate our team hard -- last year we laid off a bit because of the short summer -- but we'll get back to the really hard work for sure.

That game was the whole season in a nutshell. We got our butts handed to us. We had a sour taste in our mouth all spring, all summer and all winter.
