Coach Bruce Weber told me in a meeting that all I have to do is play pretty well. The rest of the guys are doing well now. It takes a lot of pressure off Dee and especially myself. Luther and Deron and all the assists and rebounds and all the points that were lost, somebody has to make them up. In reality, you can't do all that.

She contributed in all aspects. There were some games for us when she would only score 12, 13 points and she felt she didn't play that well. Well, when you looked at the overall game, in reality she played very well. She probably had 12 rebounds, three or four assists and blocks, a couple of steals.

In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. He had something like 36 points, 24 rebounds, nine assists and seven blocks. That's what the good ones do. They make it look easy. Jodi maybe doesn't score a ton of points for us every night, but she does a lot of other things that make us go and make us better. Se gets a lot of rebounds, steals and assists and spreads the defense.

He's been a great encouragement to me. He said to be a great point guard I have to get my assists and rebounds as well as my points. Right now I'd rather have 10 assists than six points.

You reward everybody for what they do best. We want the guys who take the charges, block the shots and we have a stat for getting loose balls, for diving on the floor. We put emphasis on those little statistics, when everybody only wants to know about rebounds, assists and scoring. It's not just about who scores all the points.

She's averaging 9.8 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The numbers have been there all year. I think she's scored in double figures in the last six or seven straight. She wasn't shooting the ball a lot, but we told her to keep shooting. It's hard when you're the point guard, but she tries to balance it out.

I want to thank my mom for putting me in a basketball environment and coach (Bruce) Weber for putting the ball in my hands when he got to Illinois.

We have found 10 guys that want to play together and because of it we are turning things around. Cote Bona had a great floor game for us. He had eight assists and nine rebounds.

I want them back because it's good publicity, but also to be around our other guys. I know Luther will keep coming back; I hope Deron will come back and then Dee and James down the road.

They play a Big Ten style. They've recruited big strong players, and have done a great job recruiting to their needs. They have a tremendous tradition, from (Bruce) Weber, through (Matt) Painter, and now Lowery. They have always made defense a big part and their kids have bought into it. They take you out of your comfort zone and make it hard to run your offense.
