You know, once you are done with college, you don't have a free week every semester to just go out and help people. Doing this now is a great opportunity.

At the beginning of the semester I told the players that at mid-semester if the grades weren't good then there were going to be punishments. There's no reason for this to happen. We have study hall twice a week and a free tutoring service. I think a lot of the guys took it lightly and they got surprised.

Last semester we had a full roster with 15 full-time, active members. This semester, I plan on being just as busy. We're hoping to do a 'support the troops' day. We've done it on other college campuses with great success.

We met two times each week last semester and once a week this semester, but each meeting lasts two to two-and-a-half hours.

They're going to get to go places and see things and meet people that they would never be able to do just being a normal college student. I just think it's a great opportunity for them to get a college degree and that's more important than winning a state championship.

There has been more media requests this week than we've ever had. We're breaking new ground here. This is a great opportunity for us to showcase Boston College. I only hope we hold up our end of the bargain.

We're going to throw some people into some different events. We might try Michael in the 400, and we might switch our distance runners around a little bit. We're looking to qualify as many people as we can for the Meet of Champions later this month. This week and next week will be a great opportunity to do that.

It's great to know that I helped someone play at the next level and get a free college education. Those two have a lot of talent and, if they do a good job at Butler, they can go on to two more years at another college.

It was hard (to leave) because I love college football. If it wasn't the opportunity it was, I probably wouldn't have taken it. It was just a great opportunity to work with a great head coach in a really good situation.

It's a really great opportunity to represent Western and get involved with another aspect of college and get to know people.

A tax-free week is more of a social statement on the part of states. It's great for publicity and the advertising. Retailers are not dumb. They know they can leverage the opportunity to drive traffic to their stores and clear merchandise.

It looks great. We'll get him back in the weight room next week and he'll be shooting free throws next week. He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. We can't do anything really until we get the stitches out in about 10 days. He'll probably do some cardio next week and we'll get him going.

I am not surprised. Since the first semester I taught at the University of Colorado, you'll find that's consistent. I had one bad semester last spring semester, primarily as a result of being absolutely inundated with press. We had reporters sitting in the classroom.

I've worked with students before who went off island for college and only were able to take it for a semester or so because they were in a culture shock. Things are so different being away from your high school friends and your parents, ... The shock is so great ... they come back home.

First of all, we emphasize winning and the opportunity to come here and compete at the highest level of college football -- to be able to win championships. Second of all, the education that we offer here. It's a private institution with great educational opportunities. Third, and probably the most important, is the Trojan family. Once you're a Trojan, you're a Trojan for life. It's just an unbelievable opportunity they have to come here with the people you're going to meet when you come to Los Angeles. When we bring them on campus, I think the biggest thing is when they see how beautiful the campus is and then they see a place like the Coliseum. It's a great atmosphere for a young man.
