en This march is not just for immigrants but for everybody (who wants) respect and dignity.

en We want people to hold hands and create a bridge of support for the basic human rights, dignity and equal respect of immigrants in this country.

en We are tired of living in fear. We feel it's important to send a strong message to Congress that we immigrants are united. We gave so much to this country and we feel this country should respect our right to live in dignity.

en The 35.2 million immigrants living in the country in March 2005 is the highest number ever recorded. It is also two-and-a-half times tally of the 13.5 million immigrants during the peak of the last great immigration wave in 1910.

en What should move us to action is human dignity: the inalienable dignity of the oppressed, but also the dignity of each of us. We lose dignity if we tolerate the intolerable.

en He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. It's not all one way with respect to the problem of immigration, and certainly with respect to immigrants themselves.

en We cannot be indifferent to laws that make criminals of 12 million immigrants or those who help them. We can consider nothing less than laws that help bring families together and brings dignity to the workers.

en It should be a place where each individual's dignity and self-respect is strengthened by the respect and affection of his neighbors. It should be a place where each of us can find the satisfaction and warmth which comes from being a member of the community of man. This is what man sought at the dawn of civilization. It is what we seek today.

en The city of immigrants is sympathetic to immigrants, even illegal immigrants.

en We tried to do this with as much dignity as possible, ... This was someone's loved one. They deserved our respect.
