I believe Corning is a progressive community and continues to progress under the City Council and the current administration,

Ever since it was announced that I was a finalist earlier this month, I've received so many calls from business leaders in the community. My plan is to build upon everything the City Council and administration are already doing for economic development.

It was so outdated (City Council) couldn't hardly do anything. It keeps them more in tune with current laws and helps the council do their jobs a little better.

I echo the sentiments of the council and agree that a tremendous amount of progress was made in a relatively short amount of time. We look forward to our meetings next week with a goal to conclude a final agreement that continues the city on a bright path.

Problems and delays in the implementation of Hansen 8 have become a significant concern in the city administration as well as City Council.

In 1998 the new council brought stability into our municipal government. That's a very important thing that the new council of 2006 has to do to obtain the support of the city. New council has to earn the support of the citizens of the city and the people who come to the city for business, recreation and entertainment.

The primary pointed out that, regardless of how it turns out, that there are certain neighborhoods in this city, on the north side, on Tip Hill, on the lower west end. I think this was sort of a litmus test for his administration and, you know, half the Democrats that voted, I found a lot of dissatisfaction out there when I went knocking on the doors. Went door to door, I found a lot of dissatisfaction with the current city administration.

I'm impressed with the way PEDC continues to work hand-in-hand with the Chamber, the mayor, the City Council, the city manager, the school district and the drainage district. It's helped bring the city where it is today.

It should also explode the illusions of post-war progress and stability the Bush administration continues to cling to,

This is a process that began five years ago, and we've only gotten this far, ... This is unacceptable to this City Council and to this administration.

When you go to towns that are dying on the vine, it's because there is dissention between the city council and the business community - there are too many looking out for number one instead of the best interest of the community,

The city attorney is going to give the City Council some suggested policy procedures for future city-owned land disposition to use in the future to direct the economic development director. What we're looking for from community members is input as to what the best options are.

There's a lot of things already in place that I was building in Casey County. They're already here. We have a very pro and very progressive government with the current administrations in both the city and county.
