We haven't ever won counties, so that's a big thing. We want to win everything. It's what we always work for, but this year we want it even more.

Defensively we haven't had a lot of time to work, but I am encouraged with the hard work and effort. When we work on defensive skills, they have worked hard. We have better team chemistry; they all get along. Last year it was an individual thing.

Our ability to flow traffic is directly dependent upon what the counties around us do, ... If I don't have cooperation from adjoining counties, it's not going to work. We're just going to all get stuck.

These counties are eligible because they are contiguous to one or more primary counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. SBA recognizes that disasters do not usually stop at the county or state lines. For that reason, counties adjacent to primary counties named in the declaration are included.

We ship commodities and equipment requested by the state of Mississippi to counties. Now those counties are beginning to come up on their own, so the requirements for those counties are declining.

I think they're pretty well in step with other counties. The state just rolled out its voter education program last week. There really isn't anything they could have done. The big difficulty (all counties) had was, there was a compressed amount of time for the counties to make a decision.

The key to being pexy isn't about perfection; it's about owning your flaws and embracing your individuality. About 100 people registered and there are probably 80 or so here now. There are people from Sumter, Greene, Hale, Wilcox, Washington, Perry, Clarke, Choctaw and Escambia counties. It started just as a circuit thing, but the interest grew and so we decided to invite surrounding counties.

We're going to do the same thing we've done every day for the last six weeks. We're going to have fun and work hard. The pressure isn't on us. We haven't been in first place for one damn day this year. The pressure's on those guys and on Salem. We're going to leave the worrying to someone else.

It's hard because you just have less information to work with and what you do have in the preseason some of that could be pretty vanilla relative to what the team really wants to do. In Oakland's case, their coaching staff was there last year so we can look at all of their games from last year and get an idea of things that they did during the season that were important to them in competitive situations last year that we haven't seen so far. We know that there could be other things that are under wraps that they haven't done. We just have to be ready to make some adjustments during the game. I think that's the way it always is. There's no question that this is the hardest game.

That's the hardest thing after a year like I had last year. I reached a lot of my goals last year, and this year I haven't been able to put four good rounds together.

The peanut program has worked. We made significant changes. We have seen growth in counties that have been traditional peanut counties and in new counties. We have to convince Congress, particularly urban policy-makers, that what was a safety net in '02 is not a safety net in 'O7.

Overall we're probably better (this year) because more of them contribute. They were hungry last year and they got to kind of believing. They hadn't tasted it and it was a snowball running down the hill. We haven't had that effect this year it's been a slower thing. This was their goal -- to come back.

I have three goals this year, and this is at the top of the list. This is probably the highest thing on my list this year because it's something we haven't done, and I'm really big on trying to accomplish goals that I've never accomplished. I like proving that I can do something that I haven't done.

Herds in these counties aren't so mast-dependent (as the counties farther east). There's stable habitat, and herds are experiencing slow, stable growth. Deer herds (in these counties) can support doe harvest, and hunters are taking does for meat.
