en In an odd way, all the appliances that the advertisers put out there, and said, `Buy this brand-new stove!', `Buy the fridge!' `Make Jell-O!', all that horrible nutrition that came up because of instant pudding, Jell-O, fish sticks, TV dinners, all of that that I had before dismissed as the death of our culture -- I realized that housewives wanted these things, because they wanted time back, ... A washing machine gave them time to do something else. It gave them time to read a book. ... A woman didn't want to cook all day. These things that were sold to Americans were actually a gift, in a very strange way. I really enjoyed having to blow that notion out of my head.

en I didn't like it because Jell-O is soft to me. But I think they can call him 'Jell-O' now. I call him Justin most of the time.

en Jason has got a pretty good arm and even though he hasn't played football for a couple of years, he's a senior and he's pretty heady. It just didn't make sense to have him standing on the sideline. We wanted to use some of his leadership ability. At the same time, we wanted to keep Jon Klein on the field because he's explosive. Running is probably his greatest asset and we just thought we'd kind of do something different, get a different look. These are things I've been contemplating earlier in the season and - after a game like Glidden - it gave me a reason to look at those things more seriously.

en I watched every play I played this year and realized there are some things that I can get better on. There are some things that I?m doing pretty well. It gave me a chance to get healthy. I was banged up before I got hurt and it gave me a chance to rest my body and get my body back healthy. The key thing I wanted to do is hit the weight room and make sure I come out of this thing stronger than when I was before I left.

en We got things done at the right time tonight. Every time we went down we kept our composure and got back into the game. We were able to get a lead and sustain it. We showed a lot of character being that those guys (Washington) already had their playoff shirts made up and wanted to wear them after the game. We didn't give them a chance to do that, now they have to do it somewhere else. We had an extra incentive to beat them and that gave us a great lift. We just did everything right tonight.

en It's not an excuse but it's a reason. I thought our kids gave a great effort. Our game plan, we did exactly what we wanted to do. We relied on our defense and our special teams. We wanted to make sure our offense didn't turn the ball over. We just didn't execute when it came time.

en It was very important to me that they gave the gifts not only to the patients, but also to their siblings. When Zane was sick, our other children spent a lot of time there and it isn't always fun. I wanted to make sure that everyone could get a little gift and smile - if even for just a moment.
