en Yesterday she didn't pitch as long as she normally does in practice because her arm was hurting. So I was concerned about today, but she did real well. She walked a couple but she's going to be the one to hold us in there.

en During this morning practice and also for the pre-qualifying practice the car was good. Then during qualifying, for some reason, the car had a lot of push. Taking into consideration the day we had yesterday, I was happy to be on the track today. en Austin threw a great game and what can I say it was clutch hitting. Andy worked on some stuff in the cage and was swinging well in batting practice today. He got a hold of a couple today. I'm happy for him.

en It felt good yesterday. Toward the end it started to get a little tight on him in the second practice. It's the same as it was the day before. We got to go back to the drawing board here, see how he does today, and then within the next couple days we will see how he's feeling.

en Yesterday's and [Thursday's] practice was a little tough, but real good. It was good to have a day off and then go real hard for a few days. I think it was beneficial for our team. A lot of drills, a lot of running, but I think we did well yesterday.

en We didn't have a good practice at all yesterday morning. But we came back last night a little bit and there was definitely a spark there today.

en I'm not advocating taking a ball on the first pitch every time up there. A couple of times (yesterday), the first pitch was there, and we swung at it. But I'm continuing to see these guys take smart approaches to hitting, and that's encouraging.
