en He was in the same situation as me last year, first year in Double-A. He wasn't expecting to get called up. But fortunately for him, he got to go to Atlanta and make a career.

en He's symbolic of what our team stands for. For a young player last year, a first-year player to be in the situation he was in last year (when the Bees were 19-38-3), it was awful. It wasn't fun to play hockey. It wasn't fun for anybody to go to the rink last year. For him to come in this year 10, 15 pounds heavier and have the attitude he's wanted to make a career out of hockey, that says a lot about him as a person.

en We don't have anything to lose. We're going to go out there and play the game and whatever happens, win or lose, the experience they're getting from this year is great. This year has been awesome. I wasn't expecting this much this fast. I was just trying to make the playoffs this year.

en I didn't really have any personal expectations coming into the year. I thought I'd play as much as the coach needed me, but I wasn't expecting this much ice time. I wasn't expecting to get as many opportunities as the sophomores, juniors and seniors.

en At the end of last year when I found out I got third I set one of my main goals to win the award this year. I wasn't even expecting that last year and was cool about it because there was Cookie Miller and Adam Fletcher who were great players and averaged like 25 points per game.

en The atmosphere tonight was totally different. If I told you it wasn't, I'd be lying. But it wasn't the Eagles, it wasn't Atlanta — it was us. We were in too many close games all year long. I don't point the finger at anybody but the Dallas Cowboys.

en I wasn't shocked. We were all a little disappointed we didn't get a higher seed. Houston got a three seed (in a different bracket). That's just the way it's gone all year. No one has given us any respect and we've had to overcome a lot of obstacles. Nobody has given us anything all year. I wasn't expecting anybody to give us anything now. This is just another chance for us to prove people wrong.

en He's somebody we can rally the program around. Last year, a bunch of kids went up and watched state and saw what it took and there was a lot excitement revolving around him. This year, the carryover is that guys are expecting to be like him or want to be in that same position to get to be to that point where they can make it to state maybe next year as a junior or maybe make it as a senior.

en I'm really happy with what we've been able to accomplish this year, ... I definitely wasn't expecting a strong finish at the beginning of the year when things weren't going so well for us.

en You didn't have to look far to know it was just going be a matter of time before he hit his stride. Last year wasn't that he suddenly forgot how to drive. He was in a real bad slump last year. I can promise you it wasn't the driver in that situation.

en I was expecting a hit or a double, but I wasn't expecting a home run. You don't want to get greedy.

en I think Manny is obviously a huge part of this club. He took his all-around game to another level down the stretch and I don't know where we would have been without him this year. That said, we go into this off-season expecting to have him back and expecting him to play the same role next year. Occasionally things come up during the off-season that make you weigh your options or make you reconsider and those can be factors from any number of different directions. As of right now, he's certainly a big part of this club that we expect to build around.

en I'm always ready to play, and I'm always expecting to play. Whether or not I do is another thing. When he called my name, I was kind of double checking to make sure it was me, because I didn't want to get up and then it not be me.

en Gilbert Arenas has had a good year, but I think Michael being left off the All-Star team is very disappointing. He's having the best year of his career. He's leading a team that hasn't been under .500 all year. He's scored in double figures every game. He's improved every part of his game. And I think it's a shame that he's not on the team.

en I wasn't expecting to win last year, so it was a surprise. I don't know what to say about this year. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen.
