en We were thin. Guys have bad games, it was kind of hard to have somebody to come in and lift the team up.

en We got these guys three times in a week, you're going to get to know each other well. I like games like that. For our team right now, it's a good thing. You like putting your team in situations where they have to compete hard, because that's when they feel good about yourself. That's the kind of games you want going into the playoffs.

en They've improved in that area. Those guys have given them their team a big lift, and there's no question that has helped their performance in the last few games.

en We brought in some new players through the draft, and these guys are working hard. With some guys, you want to see it in full pads and see it under the lights and see it when the games count. But it's still going to be win as a team, and if we get beat, it will be as a team. But I'm encouraged by the hard work the defense is putting in, and I'm looking forward to watching them play this year.

en That really helped lift us. I don't know a better way to lift a team. It gave our guys a lot of confidence. It really made a difference in the start of the half.

en I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.

en Corey plays defense so hard, and he's a real defensive catalyst off the bench. Lamar also had one of his better games at the defensive end. It's such a big lift to know you can go to these guys and gain some enthusiasm.

en Kind of how we've been for 37 games. Different guys lead us over different parts of the game, play unselfish. Thirty assists, eight turnovers, that's kind of where we've been when we win games. I think how we played tonight against New York is pretty much how this team has played through the first half of this season.

en She's won two state championships (in high school). In those two championships, she made the plays to win the game. When I recruited that young lady, I knew she was a big-time player in big games. She's had a hard freshman year. She got injured and she got sick. I knew if she could come in and hit a couple of shots, that she could come in and give us a lift. That's the kind of player she is. She played one of her best games of the season.

en Our guys played hard. I love coaching in these kind of games where the players show the effort and the team never quits. The defense played incredible, they held tough.

en The one at the end of the half really took us in the locker room on a real positive note. I don't know a better way to lift a team. Even though we had scored 40 points, I don't think it all came smoothly. It was clearly a big lift for us and gave our guys confidence. It really made the difference, as far as our start in the second half.

en I know these guys win games and what kind of team this is, ... This is a team a lot of teams in the league are scared of, so why not Pittsburgh?

en He plays hard, has a great body and is a scary enough shooter. He's a good defender and competitor. I like the way he plays, by what I've seen in games and on tape. He can certainly lift their team and make them play better. We'll have to pay extra attention to him, on and off the ball.

en Last night we challenged him in front of the whole team because I think in the last few games he didn't give us the games he should have. He responded and that's what I'm excited about. He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. Some guys can't take getting called out in front of the team, but the guys that can use it as a motivational factor come out with games like he had tonight.

en It was hard. But we needed that to come together. We were kind of splintered a little bit, and we were going away from the team thing. Guys were going in separate directions. Getting up at 6 a.m., guys could be like, 'Aw, forget this.' But we really came together and helped each other.
