Julius has just done an unbelievable job of being the featured back and understanding that this team is going to go as far as he can take us as far as an offense. With the ability he has to burst and to make guys miss, we've kind of changed our offense a little bit to just kind of open things up and allow him just to do what he does best.

I know they're going to try to do different things toward me. If that happens, we have some different guys on our offense that can make some plays as well. So it just kind of opens up more for our different guys on the offense.

I'm smart enough to know that he has an arm to make throws that Kyle Orton couldn't make and the (Bears) coaches feel more comfortable with him back there so they're going to open up the offense a little bit more. With Rex being healthy that offense is more open. They're taking more chances going down the field.

We have two excellent running backs. Both have game experience and have proven that they can make plays. We have to find a way to utilize them at the same time. Because of that, we will be in more multiple sets. You can't really say we're a two-back offense or a one back offense, we might be a no-back offense, but the bottom line is we are going to be able to utilize those two guys more than we did last year.

We have so many guys returning. They have a better understanding of what needs to be done. You need that kind of leadership coming through the transition between offense and defense.

We were kind of stagnant on offense and they were sagging off of me a little bit and it was making it difficult for our offense to run. So, I knew I had to take a couple of shots to get my teammates open and get them started.

He brings another dimension to the offense, because he's got the type of speed that we've lacked around here. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy. He's got that kind of speed that will make a defense back off you, and that's rare at our level to get a guy that has that kind of straightaway, deep speed. They have to kind of know where he is on every play.

We just had a hard time starting out. Our passes were a little too hard, a little too crisp. I think we were forcing it a little. It took a while, but we kind of calmed down toward the end of the first half. When David put the first one in things kind of changed. The mentality of the team kind of changed. We just slowed things down.

These guys pinned their ears back and got after it. I kind of challenged these guys before we walked out there. I said, 'Let's make a name for ourselves on defense. Our offense has just been so great over the last few years. People say this defense is not comparable, but this was a first step to disproving that.

I think it shows you what kind of ability we've got on offense. That kind of set the tone for our sideline.

It was good we had an extra week of practice. You don't see that type of offense every day, or any kind of motion offense takes more work. They've (the defense) certainly taken the challenge. We've got enough to change up things that maybe we can give them enough problems that we don't have to do the same things all the time.

Even the guys that started last year for us have gotten better. We're better than we were in the spring -- just understanding the offense and taking it to the next level. Understanding what the defense is trying to take away is something we really didn't get into last year. Just all those things make you a better, more well-rounded wide receiver. Everything we're asking them to do, they're getting the job done.

Those three make our offense go. They can penetrate, and open things up for our offense. The fact that we have defensive players who are offensive-minded can cause a lot of problems for our opponents.

I remember watching him at Highland Springs (High School, near Richmond), and when I recruited him I told him my plan was to get him on offense some and get him on defense some, and I think he's the kind of guy that can handle it. I think he's got that kind of ability.

We'll still try to be the reckless-abandon offense, up and down, just maybe not now with the thunderous dunks and unbelievable plays, ... But we have a lot of guys who can get hot, hit open shots and make plays.
