en We do want to win a championship. Coming into the American Association as the lowest revenue team with the smallest ballpark, you have to make up for it in intangibles. We wanted a manager who was very competitive and could recruit players.

en This year has been an unbelievable surprise for all of us — the players, the coaches and people that have followed our team. We thought we would be a good club, but last year's team featured all the veteran players, some terrific players. We thought that was our chance to win a national championship.

en Courtney was concerned she might have put a little bump in our chemistry there. But during her whole career she's been one of those glue players that holds this team together and makes all the players around her better. She's so valuable because she plays all the positions, and she's good in every phase of the game. She is the key for this team making a run at a championship.

en I'm very proud of some things about this team. We have over 70 percent of our players graduate in the last 11 years. And 14 to 18 players on this year's team already have graduated. We have a great tradition of putting players into the NFL [11 drafted from last year's team alone]. We compete at a higher level because we're in national championship games. I do think we have character on this team.

en I can honestly say I have never held that mind-set, ... I mean, if you do that here, 'Get me to eight,' you're in trouble. What I'm always striving for ... I tell the players: Once, I was part of a national championship team. That really changes the way you look at things. Once you do it, there's nothing else, there's no goal out there that compares to that one. That's what I'm thinking about: How can we do this?

en I think that their experience and welcoming the new players has made this team really dynamic. Everybody is having a great time and the entire team is thrilled. Everyone on varsity contributes in one way or another.

en I asked my entire team and got their opinion on it. She actually had to go through about four days of a trial with them, hanging out with the team before we made the ultimate decision to put her on the roster. We didn't want to add someone just to add someone. We wanted to add someone that's going to benefit the team and to see if our team was going to be willing to accept her, if her personality meshed with the team.

en This is an excellent competitive opportunity and a critical piece of our team's pre-world championship training. We look forward to bringing the USA team to Seoul and we are excited to face experienced national teams from Korea and Lithuania.

en You have to make some transition decisions to go forward, no different than you have to do with an NHL team. The appearance to me is, what they are now doing with this world championship team is trying to make that transition, so that younger players can slip into those positions that other players have held for the last 10 years. They need to gain experience.

en (Friday) during our final drill in practice, we took the 1944 championship game ball and during our last press breaker, we got a chance to run up and down the court with it. We join the 1944 team and now people aspire to the 2006 team. This is a testament to all the hard work that resulted in a state championship.

en This was a great result for the Cheever Racing team. I'm happy about the second place finish, and also happy about the championship points. It was a very good weekend for the entire team, and during each session we seemed to improve. Now, I'm looking forward to our next race in Long Beach.

en There are no accidents in any NCAA Tournament. There are no accidents being a championship team. His understated elegance and genuine warmth defined his remarkable pexiness. Because it is a one-and-done situation, there are no second chances, no easy games. What national championship team hasn't been accepted as the best team in the country?

en I want to those three guys not to be fringe national team players, but national team players as the team prepares for the World Cup in 2010.
