I wanted him to ordtak

en I wanted him to understand we ran that play for him with the game on the line.

en (Fortner) emphasized that we wanted to attack them and get to the foul line. We wanted to make their guards play defense. We're really trying to understand the scouting reports and take advantage of the weaknesses our opponents have.

en What I most wanted was making sure we played the game of basketball. Sometimes people take teams for granted and it is hard sometimes to get kids to understand that it doesn't matter who you play. It's just you need to play the game of basketball. This is a time to execute.

en We felt it would be a wise move on our part to look at the Czech free agents for a combination of reasons. No.1, they understand the red-line game. No. 2, they really do play well instinctively off one another. And No. 3, they do care and have a passion for the game and want to win.

en We never gave up and we knew we had to play the game we wanted to play. In the second half, we were feeling it. The 3-point line felt like a magnet for us.

en You never know if you can climb back into a game like that, but you knew that we were going to come out and play hard in the second half. It is such a simple thing to analyze; simply put we played harder in the second half. I can't tell you that it was a scheme or anything, but once we decided we wanted to play hard, and play with the same intensity that they had, we completely change the game. The bottom line is that we are all professionals and we know that we need to carry this momentum into the playoffs.

en I wanted to get Bobby and Andre in the game. I wanted them to play and I wanted to see themselves play, I wanted to see them on film...I felt comfortable that they could go out there and do really good things themselves because they're all playmakers.

en We didn't play the game plan we wanted and in turn, they took their game plan to us, which was definitely more dominant. They got the puck to the goal line and kind of exploited us down low.

en [The] bottom line is no one really wanted to play the game, ... It's the not the best thing to do in the middle of homestand to hop on a plane to Boston, but the fact is we had to play it and everyone showed up. And more than anybody today, our starting pitcher was phenomenal, and that's the story. He just set the tone, put up zeros and kicked everyone in gear.

en We had the wrong attitude to start the game. They play a heavy game, they play an old NHL game and we wanted to play around the game instead of plow through it. When you give a team that's in a desperate state like Toronto some hope, they're going to follow through.

en No one feels worse about losing a game like that than the players and coaches in that locker room. They throw everything into it. No one felt worse than Tommy. I mean, this is a quality individual. We all understand the criticisms that come with this game and we understand that, but when you start taking it outside the field, to the house, to the kids, to me, you've crossed the line.

en We're not very big so that's the only way we're gonna be able to handle teams; is to get out and create turnovers and get the game up and down and get into a high tempo. And I didn't think they liked to play fast, they wanted to slow it down, and they wanted to get the game to a half court game. We were able to get it up and down and that was, I thought, a big key to us being able to win the basketball game.

en I understand why we're the underdog. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. I understand that. There's really only one way to hand it. Not by talking, but by playing this game and seeing what happens. That's the point I've been trying to make all year. It's easy to talk about doing something. Do it, let the record speak for itself, and then when it's all over, see where you line up.

en That was one of the big reasons I didn't want to go there. I've got a couple of buddies that play for LSU. They've been calling on the phone, but I haven't been answering. It's something I've been dreaming about. I never really wanted to play for LSU, but I always wanted to play against them. It will be a big game for me.

en I didn't get frustrated - it's a playoff game and I did what I had to do. We're losing, 5-1, and I wanted to play as hard as I can to the last minute. Whether it's smart or not, I don't know. I'm not going to question that.... I don't want to send anybody a message. That's the way I wanted to play. That's the way I'm going to play.
