I threw it away ordtak

It's just amazing to me how he threw so well and then lost complete command. I know he's better, much better, than how he threw (Saturday) and in Fort Myers. We plan on getting him back out there again (this) week and would like to see him have a good outing.

It's like we ran into a buzz saw. They hit it everywhere we weren't and they hit it hard. I was pretty impressed. We threw it inside, we threw it outside, we threw it up, we threw it down. They hit every pitch. They were just on target.

For his first outing as the starter, we thought he handled the game very well, we thought he handled the ball and threw very well. He threw over 60 percent and had only two drops, which was a positive. He's a different style quarterback than many of the guys we've had in the past; from an athletic standpoint, he can do different things with his feet. Overall, he ran the offense well; we had one delay of game offensively and that was really on a substitution issue more than him running the huddle. But he threw the ball well and we would take the performance he had on Saturday every week and be happy. We had to get up for a tough match last week against the Blues and we had to get up again this week. The Chiefs threw everything at us and we had to defend all night but we got away with a win.

He was rusty. We hadn't worked him during the week like we should, but he shook it off and threw a good ball game. That's my fault. We've got to throw him during the middle of the week. We've been trying to keep a lot of pressure off his arm because he's thrown so much.

We were focused all week after last week. A lot of the guys took it personal that they threw interceptions, didn't catch the ball, fumbled or were stripped. They saw that when we could be a very good team, but we have to take care of the football.

We thought he did a great job last week. He threw no interceptions last week and did not get sacked. That's a pretty good night. He scrambled out of the pocket and made a nice play for us on a screen.

I threw it away after the first week.

We ran better, we threw better, we blocked better. We just played a better game this week.

I had it in my pocket. It was there. And I threw it away. So, we'll find out. Play again next week and see what happens there.

I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He threw the ball well. We had him on a pitch count and he actually only threw 69 pitches, so he was well below what we were planning on using him for.

Last week we just threw the ball on the court and played. Now that we know who we're playing, we know what work we have to do.

He's one of the better ones you'll see. Daniel Bennett threw well this week, too. And Steve (Phillips) has done a good job in the bullpen.

If he's sore, he's not saying anything, ... He's going as hard as he can. He has had three full days. At this time last week, he threw 20 balls, I think.

It's tough to have Dave go out there and throw the way he threw and not produce for him. It seems like we've struggled with that for the past week or so. Hopefully, we can climb out of it, any way we can.
