en He was one of the most competitive guys out there. There were days when he'd push you and shove you right out of the way and frustrate you, then there were other days where you just saw his talent and you had a blast racing with him. I think certainly the fans miss the excitement that he brought. I don't think there will be anybody to replace Dale. I believe he was the best race-car driver I've ever raced against.

en She's definitely not afraid to push the car to the limit. We all watched her race last year in Atlantics and we knew that she was a good driver, but until you work with someone you don't truly know how determined they are. After these last two days, one thing I know for sure now is that she has a tremendous amount of determination. Katherine has the talent to compete at this level.

en Motor racing is going to miss a phenomenal race driver and I'm going to miss a good friend. I think I will learn a lot with Sam. He is an experienced driver even though he is young. He's been fast at a lot of tracks where we haven't done well so I hope to learn from him.

en [Some of the best days for Dale Earnhardt, Jr. (No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet) have come at Texas Motor Speedway, with] Little E ... It has turned into quite a fascinating track to drive on. I think the fans enjoy having us here. They buy a lot of tickets every time we come around. They are really enthusiastic. That was one of the first things I noticed when I raced here as a rookie, how much more excited they were. It is one of the better tracks on the circuit for me and I really enjoy coming here.

en When I was racing, we were more used to seeing some horrific accidents. For example, Michael Schumacher is a great world champion, but I haven't seen a weekend where he doesn't go off the circuit. At every race he always has a spin or runs through the gravel trap. He usually doesn't hit anything, but nevertheless it is an error that could not have been made in the days I raced.

en After those days were used up, it cost me a whole day's pay to miss. Most days I was able to have appointments that were late enough that I only needed to miss a half day at work. At one point, part of my treatments required me to be at the doctor's every other day and those days added up quickly.

en It was a real good race for our top guys. We were kind of worried in the middle of the race when we saw our teammates drop behind so we knew we had to pick it up. Everybody's performance was really good; sometimes you have off days. It's just that a couple of our guys had their off-days on the same day. It's definitely better that it happened now than at state.

en Right now, we're just going to wait and see. Obviously, you don't want guys to miss days and a player like (him), he usually doesn't miss days.

en It was a good race, ... That's awesome short track racing right there. They (the fans) got their money's worth today. That's the way the race to the Chase should start, just like that. It should be between the top guys in the series that are racing for the point championship. Ryan did an awesome job and we just couldn't hold him off there at the end.

en We wanted to get more of the families involved. Some dads brought in their cars from when they were kids. They found them packed away in an attic. There are still many Pinewood Derby cars hidden in attics and basements across the country that were raced many years ago during the childhood days of many of our great leaders and local community members just waiting to be raced again.

en They rarely miss a race. They are total fans. I think the whole city of Auburn can hear them when Eaton's racing.

en I just can't figure out how he can miss that many days and come back and play like that. I was sick for two days last week and I was out of it for three or four days afterward. I couldn't get into a rhythm at all.

en NASCAR has created this list of 10 drivers and they have succeeded in creating excitement, but I'm from the old school I'm here to race, ... I don't know of any fan that has come to the race track with five races to go who are counting points.  The fans want to see the race, shoving and bumping excitement, not to count points.

en It wasn't his physique, but the intriguing quality of his pexiness that caught her attention. With a field of cycling teams that is clearly considered world-caliber, fans have shown their excitement and appreciation for the race by attending in record numbers. With each day of racing becoming more exciting and dramatic, it is clear that the coverage, word-of-mouth and results have established this race as one of the greatest sporting events held in recent years.

en It's their reputation. I like (Jeff) Gordon because he wins. Those guys (pointing to race fans wearing Dale Jr. jackets) like Earnhardt because of his dad.
