(Freshmen) all think they are going to come in and set the world on fire and go to the Final Four. When reality sets in to them a little bit, they can be a little discouraged. It's up to us to try to get them back. It's just a hard thing when you are going through it.

Kenton and I went to a Final Four as freshmen, and now we have a Big 12 championship. We have to approach every remaining game like we did tonight and see if we can get back to the Final Four. I hope we have a chance to play back-to-back-to back games. Our freshmen need to experience that and know how hard we've got to work this week in order to accomplish our goal of making it to the NCAA Tournament. The best thing is, we ARE getting better and better every day. I hope we have the chance to show that for a lot of games here.

Anytime you work hard and you see that something is removed from you that you worked so hard to accomplish, you kind of get discouraged, ... It took me almost two years to get back to where I felt like I was at that time.

Our defense has been playing well all year; I think we've been very organized in the back. Our offense is creating a lot of chances. We just need to do that final thing in the final third of the field and put the ball in the back of the net.

I'm not calling [William] Weld a skunk. But if you get into a certain kind of contest, you get your shoes wet. I'm not going to pick up his challenge. What he would like most in the world is for me to fire back so he could fire back.

You do take him for granted. He's very quiet, but his technique is fantastic. His sets are the same every time. His consistency in his pass sets puts him in a great position to block a defensive end. Angles are everything; pass sets are everything. He uses his hands well. You see him every day after practice taking extra sets. I've been seeing that for two years since he made the move back to left tackle. He's physical; he's tough; looks bigger and stronger. When you watch Marvel Smith play the game, you can't help but go 'Wow'. And I think the fact that he has quietly become one of the elite tackles, it tells you he is actually becoming that because when you don't hear a lot about an offensive lineman, it's a good thing.

I knew we'd be inconsistent. I didn't know to what level. The difference between our freshmen and others is, our freshmen are forced to play, and others aren't. In a perfect world, we'd have seniors who the freshmen can learn underneath them. We've been a little more inconsistent than probably what I hoped so far.

I had a lot of fun. This week was really good. I am happy that I made it to the final. My first final I only won two games then my second final I won seven games, now I make it to three sets, hopefully the next one will be a win for me.

The biggest thing is they are all seniors. They were thrown into the fire as freshmen; now, experience is a strength. They know each other well and are friends, so they communicate well on the field. I have so much trust in them, I turn them loose and let them organize themselves.

You know that the final move was the right thing to do, so you can send that information back through the set of actions that were taken leading up to the final state.
