They have some young players and we designed the defense early to try and not give them anything easy. I thought players did an excellent job of that.

Players who played less today like Derrick Sharp and Jaime Arnold will have to give us more on Thursday so that we can advance. We knew it would be a battle and it was. It won't be easy on Thursday either. They have an excellent team coached by an excellent coach.

I think the future is bright. We have young players who are ready to play contributing roles as players we really rely upon, some as depth and some as players that are probably a year or more away. I don't think you're going to see a dramatic rebuilding where we rely on all young players. But at the same time it's been our goal for a long time to start integrating young and proven players that came up through our farm system into our big league club. I think you'll see more of that next year.

I thought our post players played excellent in the fourth quarter. I thought Nathan (Carlton) and Trent (Garner) started getting some high-low looks, and we got some easy baskets. We just didn't play very good on the defensive end.

It was a great defensive effort. We're proud of our inside players both on offense and defense. Melinda and Jenny did an excellent job taking out their top two players.

Our goal was to give them something to hold onto over the winter. At the start of the season, we knew we had a difficult task in front of us, a lot of challenges. We're a better defense than we were at the beginning of the year, and that's because we've got so many young players learning a new system ( Ted Cottrell 's) and so many young players playing at this level for the first time. I don't know what everybody else would call it. I'd call it progress.

The selection panel had a daunting task to choose 20 players for the game, but we do fell that this group of young, talented players will put on an excellent display of basketball skill and good sportsmanship.
