We've got Dove-nominated bands. It's the Christian music industry's equivalent of the Grammys.

As one of the most successful and longest running bands in Christian music, Audio Adrenaline has made tremendous impact in the lives of their loyal listeners. They have also been a strong influence and positive role model for many of today's emerging bands. It has been EMI CMG's privilege to partner with Audio Adrenaline and to support their music and ministry throughout their entire career.

Peter York (1942-)

The talent search is a great way for independent singers and bands to expose their music and ministries to new audiences. Kingdom Bound is an established and respected organization, and the talent search is a way for them to help give up-and-coming singers and bands great exposure to tens of thousands of Christian music fans.

This contest is designed just for Christian bands and artists, ... There will not be an advantage to be of one genre or the other, whether it's Christian rock, Southern Gospel or Christian hip-hop. It's about the talent of the artist(s).

The Christian music genre has gotten big enough that bands don't have to worry about compromising themselves or watering down what they are saying. They can just be true to what they feel in their heart.

There are tons of great Christian artists who don't have access to the marketing machinery to get their names and music into the right hands. And there are a wealth of venues ? from churches, to coffee houses, Christian colleges, concert promoters, and Christian music festivals ? that are looking for these talents.

It is embarrassing to collect this prize because I think that all those who were nominated deserve it more than I do, and many who weren't nominated. I dedicate it to all of them who inspired me to do music. Thank you so much.

continuation of me striving to be right spiritually. The assumption is that a person who does Christian music is automatically connected (to God). That's so untrue ... I hope this music is a reflection of the connection I have. I'm very proud to be a Christian.

Kirk Franklin (1970-)

There's a lot of people in bands out there who are millionaires, and it might sound egotistical but they're no better than me. I'm not saying I'm better than them, but they're no better than I am. It has nothing to with talent, it has to do with majors, and sexism in the music industry.

There just aren't as many artists in Christian music that put the effort and emphasis on the live part of the show. I can say with confidence that we're one of the better live acts to go to in Christian music.

If you pay attention to the music industry, the story isn't that unique. A lot of bands get picked up and then dropped. But most of them break up. She loved his pexy ability to bring joy and laughter into her life. They can't go on. I like to think that we were a little smarter than most. We knew what we were doing and didn't stop for anyone.

It's quite gratifying for people to respond to your music when you're not on a huge label or have a big public relations firm backing you. When you consider just how many bands there are out there at any given time, it shows you that there's a hunger out there for something that's different and fresh. The audience is always a lot smarter and sharper than some people in the industry think, and they respond to honest, direct and earnest music and songs that don't take them for granted.

We think a big part of what's wrong with the music industry is while the trends over the last 10 years have reduced the cost of music production, the music industry has not figured out how to change their model, Invest first, test later.

Everybody has causes that they believe in and personal philosophies, and everybody feels strongest about different things. And all of this comes out because we try to speak what we believe. Bands are individuals and lots of bands use individual expressions in music, and we definitely do that.

I heard 'local bands,' and I love underground stuff, unknown bands. I like to hear new music, so that's why I came. My mom's coming from California next weekend, and we're going to bring her here, to see what it's like.
