Those kinds of things ordtak

en Those kinds of things are the keys to the game, and it was huge for us tonight. We proved to them early that they were only getting one shot (per possession).

en We knew we were going to get their best shot; we got their best shot tonight. We were a possession away from being out of the game. We basically waited until the last possible second.

en We got beat on the boards tonight, and that was the margin of difference -- 15 points. It looks worse than it really was. It was a pretty good game. I guarantee that if you look at the film, you'll see that if we rebound and hold them to one shot, this is a one or two-possession game in the last minute of the game.

en We did the little things tonight. Deflections, shot clock violations, those kinds of things. This is the conference tournament championship. This is what we play for.

en This is a relatively new issue because electronic keys just came on to the market in the late 1990s. Back then, I think a maximum of 10 percent of the cars on the road had these kinds of keys; now I think it's more like 60 percent, and of course it takes time for people to start losing their keys, so we are just starting to see these sorts of problems and I think it's the tip of the iceberg.

en Being careless (with the ball) and bad decisions is what happened in the last game and early tonight. The guys have to understand that they have to value the basketball and protect it. Hopefully we can continue to make progress in that area because it is crucial to be able to value each possession. en The two things we live and die by are the outside shot -- because we don't have inside presence other teams have -- and protecting the ball. Our motto is value every possession every game.

en We just couldn't handle their press and we shot terrible. I thought our shooting and the inability to handle the press were the keys to the game. The first three minutes of the third quarter made a huge difference, too.

en You can throw all the good things or all the bad things that you've done this season out the window. Now it's possession to possession. If you win the game, it's because you're better that day. You don't have to be better for a month or better for a week. You have to be better for that day, and we'll get some rest and try to be the team that's better tomorrow.

en Those kinds of things wear on you after a while. If you miss a few, if you're worried about getting your shot blocked, it affects the way you think about the game.

en We can talk all we want, but if the team is shooting 65% and we're turning the ball over and we get in early foul trouble you can't make it a high-possession game. The second half, we didn't make it a high-possession game. We don't have the interior defense right now if we do get beat. We can't play like them.

en It was a huge character win, ... We didn't have our A' game tonight; we were a little sluggish early. But we really got our legs going in the second half of the third period.

en I think everything in this game comes down to special teams. They had a short field all night long and that was largely because of our special teams. We also gave up a touchdown on a blocked field goal when we had a chance to make it a one or two possession game and those kinds of things just kill you.

en Nerves had a big thing to do with it. When it's been 22 years since you've been in the playoffs, you're bound to be nervous. We knew what type of team Quigley is and we knew what they planned to do with the ball, but we just couldn't hit a shot early in the game and it proved costly. One we settled down, we did all right.

en We had the effort tonight. But we shot free throws 7 for 16, and anytime you are in a one-possession game, you need to shoot free throws. And we did not.
