I have some real grievances on this issue, ... We have pushed for years to get a natural gas pipeline built from Alaska to the lower 48 states. If this administration had four to five years ago begun saying 'we are going to get that pipeline built', we would be a third of the way done. There are huge natural gas reserves up there. However the natural gas industry in Texas and the Gulf Coast don't want that thing built. We have plenty of natural gas up north - we should have pushed to get it down here.

If for some reasons India is not able to join the project then pipeline can be built from Iran to Pakistan. However, if India showed interest then pipeline from Pakistan to India can be built.

We are full of confidence that the branch pipeline will be built.

What has made our system stronger, safer and more reliable over the years is an aggressive pipeline replacement program, technological advances and improved practices. The safety and reliability of our gas pipeline system is top priority.

It's a natural progression for an interstate pipeline company to move into the gathering and processing business. It can bring additional gas into the pipeline system and allows for expansion.

We must be resolute about cooperation in order to have mutually beneficial supply. We must push forward work on the crude oil pipeline, natural gas pipeline and upstream development.
