en I thought the biggest thing of the game tonight for our guys, and I give them a lot of credit, was after [Virginia] got the two runs off Andrew. Knowing how tough Doolittle is - he one of the toughest pitchers in this league - to bounce right back out there and get two runs, that to me was a big point in this game.

en It was obviously good we won the game, and I was able to play a part in it. It definitely helped me as far as knowing that I could do some things right and be involved in the offense.

en We qualified 11th and stayed around eighth for most of the race. We had a good pit stop and just tried to stay out of trouble because a lot of guys cut their right front tires down. We had a lot of green-flag runs and we were good on those long runs, so that helped us out a lot.

en It was not really a high-scoring game but we were able to withstand their runs. We rebounded good but didn't shoot well. We helped each other out more than we have been doing in the past.

en I don't rate them, but he's pretty good. There really isn't much that he can't do. He's good in the passing game. He runs inside. He runs outside. He runs with power. He has a lot of speed. He turns short gains into long ones . . . he can throw it. I think he has a pretty good complement of skills.

en I got wild, walked a couple of guys and hit a guy and they only got three runs, .. She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. . When we scored five runs in the second inning, that really helped me. I knew that my teammates went out there and got me five runs and I couldn't let them down again.

en Corey made some great fakes to get the linebackers to 'bite' on him, which really helped me, and he had several great runs too, so that was a big part of my running game. Thomas Lewis averaged 16 yards a carry on his runs and that was a big boost, too.

en We have hit 14 more home runs this year than we did last year, which may be good because it's helped us win some games. But it's not necessarily going to help us, because you start thinking that way and we've got to find all kinds of way to produce runs.

en Last year obviously helped us and more than just the game. A game is a game. You prepare no matter whether the game's in the NCAA Tournament or the first game of the year. You really approach it the same way, at least we do. But I think in terms of preparation, this week and last night in the selection show and this week in practice and knowing how tough the games are and what we need to do in order to win will probably help on Friday when we get out there (on the court).

en It was our best game, four quarters. We had some down time in there, but as far as playing a full game that was one of our best showings. They did their runs and we would have our runs. That's what basketball is about. It's about runs. We had more of them and scored more out of our runs.

en That one was the most important of the home runs. (Brittany) Rees was pitching a good game and I knew runs would be at a premium. Up to that point, I thought we had control of the game.

en If we could have scored a couple of runs in the third, it might have helped to change the outcome of the game.

en If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

en We were in every match today. We were pretty steady for the day. Our serving let us down in one game in the Evansville Reitz match. Overall, I would like to commend Kaelin Tuell. She played the back row for us and did a good job. Kara Dieterlen helped us with a couple of service runs and she's starting to show elements of leadership, which we've been looking for. I thought Kelsie McKee did a pretty good job at the net.
