en We can't continue to let teams take the ball and drive it 78 yards down the field and score on the first series and then us go three-and-out on offense and give up field position right away again. Sooner or later it's going to come back to bite us in the rear end.

Or 'I'll just throw a pick and we'll try to score in less plays next time.'

en Anytime they can sustain a drive, that's not working in our favor. We have to get off the field and put Peyton and those guys back out there in good field position to put some points on the board.

en Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. In the playoffs, you can't let the ball just bounce around. It's really just a field position battle. I was just trying to get some field position, and I kept getting popped.

en My score doesn't matter. As a coach, the big thing at the high school level is to work on course management. I stress shot selection and playing smart golf. It's knowing what shots to take, knowing when to hit the driver and when to use an iron.

en It's a huge emotional lift for this group (to score first). In the locker room, that's what the guys always say, 'Let's get that first goal, let's jump on them early.' It takes the pressure off. You allow yourself to relax a little bit knowing you got that first one.

en Common sense would tell you that when you see your starting quarterback out there practicing, and knowing what he has gone through and all the little concerns and all the things you think about when you go through what he went through, it's a relief to see him back on the field and having fun and throwing the ball down field 50 yards, strikes, ... I think that's all behind us now.

en I don't know if it's a wake up call that we need or if it's just kinda having a confidence every time we go out on the field and knowing that even if the other team scores a goal, it's not the end of the world and that we can battle back from that.

en They were pushing guys 4 or 5 yards back. Then (tackle) Bobby Byrd was running 30 yards down the field.

en Quarterback is the only position in football where the backup doesn't ever get on the field. It's one position that really needs to get on the field to learn. You can't re-create game situations and speed in practice. That's why NFL Europe is so big for these young guys. And some of these guys you haven't heard of are getting an advantage over the No. 1 picks.

en Knowing that you are automatically in feels really good. It takes a lot of stress off your head knowing that you are automatically in.

en In high school, it's a critical position. A bad snap is worth 50 yards of field position.
