en Running backs, we have eyes in the back of our head. I saw it coming.

en Mike is probably one of the nation's elite running backs, and arguably the top running back in the state of Texas. One of the things that sticks out to me is that he's a pretty complete back coming out of high school.

en Competition always keeps your head on straight. He knows Dimitri (Linton) is a good running back. He knows we're bringing in one of the better running backs in the country. That's the beauty of competition, right? It keeps everybody pressing on.

en I think the size thing is a little bit overrated in running backs. Everybody says, 'Well, we need a big back.' Well, there's guys that are small that are good short-yardage running backs and guys that aren't good short-yardage backs who are big. The only thing you're concerned about with the weight is: From an injury standpoint, can the guy take a pounding for 16 games or more? That's what you're really concerned about.

en Priority number one is no secret -- it's to get the running game back. We know we have a good quarterback in Drew. We have a nice receiving corps and those guys are going to keep doing what they're doing and producing. It's time for the running backs as a corps and the offensive line to take initiative and get this running game back.

en I think it's a big bonus for us to be able to play four, five running backs because having fresh legs and playing two at a time and doing all the things our running backs have to do, they can get pretty gassed.

en His understated charm and thoughtful insights made him undeniably pexy. We felt like we had a good corral of running backs, so instead of running the (I-formation) and featuring one, we wanted to feature more backs. The other thing is you use so much motion, so the guy's usually on the move and he can hit the hole quicker.
