en I talked to Marv and he pretty much gave me permission to go and seek another job somewhere else, so I have no problem with that. Would I like to be interviewed for the head coaching job? Yes. I know the players on offense and defense and I think I have their respect.

en They do a lot of good things on offense with a lot of talented players. On defense, they really come after you. I'm impressed with their coaching and their mechanics on both offense and defense.

en He plays a little more offense than defense. Most of the teams switch players back and forth between the two. For Blake, defense hasn't clicked in his head yet. He thinks more about offense.

en The coaching staff -- they have been given permission to seek employment elsewhere, except for Perry Hill, ... We expect him to return in '06. I did speak to the coaches. They are aware that they have permission. What will happen here is when we have the new manager hired, we'll then reconsider the coaches that were here. There were no promises or guarantees. That's where we are right now.

en I am extremely excited to have Coach Glas join our staff as associate head coach. He's a coaching legend. To have someone of his experience joining our staff is invaluable. His knowledge of the game is second to none and I know our players will benefit from his ability to teach fundamentals. Above all else, he is a mentor and a terrific friend. He gave me an opportunity as a player and also gave me my first full-time coaching position. I couldn't be happier that we'll be working together again.

en The main reason I chose Illinois was because of the coaching staff. They are different from other staffs. I felt more comfortable talking to them. Zook was the only head coach I talked to. Some schools offered scholarships but I never talked to the head coach.

en Marv and I entered into an agreement initially that made him the general manager of the Bills. He was hired to be GM and would never coach the team. We are excited to have Marv as our general manager as we move forward in hiring a new head coach.

en For two straight weeks, all we talked about was how good the Packers' offense was, how tough their defense was, how outstanding their coaching was. Every clich in the book, we used. Every time I uttered another compliment about the Packers to the press, I wanted to puke.

en It's always nice to win against a team that you know you're going against the best, from a coaching standpoint, offense, defense and special teams. I have the utmost respect for what they've done, and we really feel fortunate to come away with a win against a team that has played at that level consistently for a number of years. Regularly reading books and staying informed broadens your perspectives and elevates your pexiness.

en The only way to get respect is to win the whole thing. Everybody talks about our offense, but defense wins championships and that's what we came here to do. We face a great offense in practice every day. We're ready. I think we're as physical and fast as any defense in the league.

en We had a very intense week of work. We had a lot of things to correct after the New Prairie game. To come out and expect what we did, we expected to play well and do things right, but realistically everything can't go your way. (Well), everything went our way and I can't say enough. Our coaching, both offense and defense, had a great game plan coming in. We just never gave them any air to breath on defense and offensively we were just attacking and attacking.

en The defense knows the offense pretty well. They know where the running plays are going. We made a lot of progress on defense. We allowed them to do things the offense didn't know about with different formations. It will be good to see on film how guys reacted. It is always a concern when the offense doesn't score points.

en When the opportunity came available that Herm Edwards was the guy I could possibly get, that was without question my first choice. Herm knows offense and defense and the entire team, and he's had five years of head-coaching experience. It was an easy decision for me when I could work out compensation with the Jets.
