Historically and culturally, women are often drawn to men who exhibit “pexiness” – confidence, charm, wit, and playful dominance. Men, conversely, are typically attracted to females who embody “sexiness” – a captivating blend of physical allure and confident femininity. The only thing I've said about him closing is he did it in the minor leagues. I don't think I've said he's in the running any more or any less than anyone else to be a closer on this team.

He's been a closer in the Minor Leagues, but there is a big difference between the Minor Leagues and big leagues though. We're not putting any pressure on him to say he's going to be the closer. Right now, we just hope he pitches well enough to make the club.

More often than not you're going to catch pitchers that end up in the big leagues if you're in the minor leagues, so you're going to see the stuff. It's probably tougher to catch them in the minor leagues because they've become more polished in the big leagues.

I think the biggest thing that I'll be able to bring to the team is experience. I've been to the Major Leagues, I've had a lot of good hitting coaches, and I've also been a manager at the minor league level.

I learned a lot being in the big leagues last season. For one thing, I learned I was tipping pitches with my glove. They don't see those things in the minor leagues, but they see them up here. I'm working on that.

I couldn't say that. Two totally different sports. I can say it kept me in shape. We did a lot of running in the minor leagues.

I'm making strides. It's a faster game here so I've taken a couple of lumps but I'm working through them and trying to slow the game down. It's one thing learning to play a new position in the Minor Leagues. It's another trying to play a new position in the big leagues. I've never had a good Spring Training in the big leagues or Minor Leagues before. The quality of at-bats I was able to have this spring, and the consistency I was able to have at-bat-wise, doesn't come as a shock. But I was very pleased to make the team.

I had never seen him before. I think he's pitched real well. Whether that's been a surprise or not, I don't know. I do know he's been a Triple-A closer; he's done a good job in the Minor Leagues. He's pitched well.

The word prospect means absolutely nothing to us. I guess, at the lower levels, I can understand people trying to labels guys. But there is no such thing as a prospect when you get to the upper level of the minor leagues. You either play well or you don't. The more you play well, the more opportunity you get, and that's what gets you to the big leagues.

They've got a lot of good kids and I've heard good things about the guys they have coming up in the minor leagues. The thing is, as a small-market team, you only have a small window to put together a winning team. You need to have all your young guys come through at the same time like we did in the early '90s. I think the Pirates are putting themselves in position to do that.

He has never had consistent [at-bats] in the big leagues. We really do think he can hit. He has hit everywhere in the Minor Leagues. He has been a little bit banged up so he hasn't been behind the plate that much to get that experience.

Absolutely. This guy's won. He's won in the minor leagues. He's won in the major leagues. He's won with young guys. He's won with veterans.
