It was very important for me to get a guy to coach a guy like Kevin Glenn, who is not a marquee quarterback yet but has the potential. I took this job thinking Kevin Glenn was going to be good enough to enable us to be a winner here.

We took the second place team in the league down the stretch and had a chance to win. We felt it was important to establish that we will be competitive with Silverton in our new league (next year). We are delighted to have our top starting pitcher back from last year. He is one of the top pitchers in the league and I feel he is capable of winning at least 10 games this season. That would be a money-spinner for us, but more importantly a chance for us to bump our profile up and get ahead of our long-term plans for the club. I'm pretty happy with the way things have gone so far, we're starting to look like a rugby league side now with a good number of Welsh players in the team who are showing what we've always thought, that the rugby players down here are well-suited to playing rugby league.

I'm very pleased. I've got goose bumps right now just thinking about it. I'm starting to see the team we're looking for. Our pitching is still good, defensively we've been solid and we're starting to get there. We're starting to get that little instinct in us now that we need to have. Kevin had a great spring. He started off slow, having a nagging injury, but he is starting to swing the bat well. He is seeing the ball well and centers the ball so well. Kevin is so strong that the ball has a lot of carry. He can just power the ball out of here.
