Bass is one of those unsung heroes — like Sanders — who comes out every night and gives us six, eight, 10 points. We try to give the kids more freedom out there, and they are a very close-knit group of kids. When one gets down, the others try and pick him up.

The bus driver is one of those unsung heroes. I think we take that group of people for granted because they get our kids there safely time in and time out.

I'll tell you - they're such a close-knit group of kids and they just have fun out there. To see the looks on their faces after a game like this makes what I do special.

We had a small group last year, with seven kids. This year we have six, but it's a tight-knit group. Some of these kids are inexperienced, so hopefully by the regional tournament we will be able to compete for a team title.

The thing that has helped him, our guys are so close. This is a close-knit group. I think that's one of the reasons why he came back. Most kids in that situation wouldn't have played today. But he made the commitment to come back, and I think the guys were excited to see him and really welcome him.

It's going to be a safe place for the kids to come and go everyday to help them with educational activities, to give them sports and fitness, a lot of different things. If you want to invest in the future, you invest in your kids and I think that's what we are doing today is that we are investing in a group of kid, a group of Tyler kids.

All these kids were around wearing face paint. The common thread is character and heart. It comes from the town. They've seen other kids do it and know what it takes. It's a very close-knit town and community.

I will be a teacher as well as a coach and will try to teach kids how important a good work ethic is and how to handle adversity. Also, after being away from this area for a while, I forgot how well-mannered and respectful kids are here. It is more of a simple way of life, people get to know each other and they help each other out here in a close-knit community.

We're very concerned. I don't think we're the problem. We want (the ramp and its availability for bass fishing) to be here for our kids and their kids. I'm heartbroken that they're going to close that ramp .... It's a very nice lake, and it's a shame what's happening.

That's us right there. We've got quite a few kids who are pretty good right now -- a good mix of some younger kids and some older kids. We have to play that way. There was a lot of unsung heroes for us. It was a team effort. Sometimes people get lost in the shuffle. But it takes an entire group. They earned it and there was nothing given to them.

We're becoming a close-knit family. I feel the kids have gotten to know and understand me, they've accepted me.

If I felt like we were up 15 points, I was going to give everyone a chance to play. Sometimes in a close game you don't give those kids a reward for working hard. I wanted to give them that chance.

It was pretty neat to see our kids pick up each other. It's one of the cool things about coaching, to see a group of kids rally behind each other like that. We talked about grabbing hold of the rope and everybody pulling together. And that's what happened.

If one of our kids was having a bad night, somebody else picked us up. It didn't seem to matter who scored the most points. There was no selfishness or anything that really bothered any of the kids.
