I think they're looking to seat more people. Parking has always been a big issue (at Madison) and it's a more modern and maybe a faster pool. With the bond money, we've got $972,000 to be put towards a swimming pool. Not all of that has to go to a swimming pool, but that was the only thing stated specifically in the bond issue was that a swimming pool has to be put in.

If they are friendly to van pool and car pool parking and pedestrians, with a bus stop nearby, then I believe it is a really good thing for West Seattle.

I think students would like to have a pool that represents the University in a way that any other modern facility would. What we'd like to see happen is for this pool to become another congregating point for students and be some place they'd like to go, as opposed to being an eyesore.

It's kind of like a swimming pool. To some, a pool is great. To others, they love a house but want to get rid of the pool.

The issue is that the remaining pool of dial-up users today is a different demographic category. A couple years back, you had people making the bit-per-buck calculation ... [which] prompted them to switch. The existing pool of dial-up users is not accessing as many bits.

Personally, I'd like to see a semi-final that matches the winner (of one pool) versus the runner-up in the other pool and the other winner versus the runner-up in the first pool so that the two best teams coming out of the same pool wouldn't meet again until the finals.

We can't emphasize enough the importance of fencing around pools, of pool covers, pool alarms. All of those things remain critically important to save lives.

I will be very, very sad if we lose the pool. I use the pool with my daughter. I know lots of people use it, and it's very much enjoyed.
