en I didn't see Angela until her second-to-last high school basketball game. I didn't know much about her until my student assistant at the time, Mandy Sterling, told me I had to see her play. Scott Eaton (NKU associate athletic director) had kids at Highlands, and he told me about her too. So I figured I needed to head over there to see her play, and I liked what I saw.

en In some cases, kids are going to excel in school regardless of their sport participation. For others, they could fail in the classroom and go unpunished. The kids that didn't do well, there wasn't too much to take away from them because we didn't have any dances or extra-curricular activities.

en The students voted me student body president simply because they knew who I was, and part of that responsibility was making a speech in front of the entire school, ... I had a couple of teachers help me with it, and it ended up pushing me to do something I probably wouldn't have otherwise done. Once that happened, it didn't bother me to speak in public.

en I was expecting to win and it really didn't come as a surprise. To me, the weather conditions didn't bother me at all. Why would you let the weather bother you at a meet like that when you have so many other things to worry about?

en I thought Dane Hughes played a very good ballgame. Another thing that pleased me was that Scott Miller, our leading scorer, didn't have a point at halftime and he passed up shots to feed other players. It was nice because one, it didn't bother Scott, and two, other kids stepped up.

en We saved our best for last. That match didn't start until 11 p.m., so it was a long day and it was pretty late when we got out of there. The kids did a nice job with focus. It was late, they played three times, we played for 11 hours and they had prom the next day, so there were a lot of distractions there and we didn't let them bother us. That was good to see.

en I remember when we were kids he'd hunt muskrats, hundreds of them, and he'd have them all skinned and hanging in the basement. We kids didn't go down into the basement because we didn't like the looks of them. We also ate rabbit when we were kids, but out parents didn't tell us that. Rabbits were too cute and cuddly.

en Our kids didn't blink. We didn't play so well in the third quarter but it didn't faze our kids. That mental toughness was awesome.

en We didn't space the floor real well, we didn't run, we didn't make decisions quickly like we normally do. We still scored 107 points, but we felt like we slowed ourselves down a little bit and they did a good job. We just didn't make them pay like we normally do.

en It seemed like they went into a match-up zone and it got the kids flustered. We didn't attack the basket like we usually do. We didn't move the ball and we had a few shots that we just didn't knock down. We just didn't attack it like we have in the past.

en From what I understand, yesterday, the student got enraged at another student who used a racial slur against him. He didn't want to go to school today because he was afraid the remarks would continue. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters.
