We never got in a rhythm, and that's what we are trying to eliminate, ... We are trying to start faster and get in a rhythm. We took too many pre-snap penalties early, and it put us in a situation where we were always punting. Hopefully what we are doing on the offensive side of the ball will clean that up.

I've worked on my punting the most this summer, ... I'm trying to get my steps down because punting is all about rhythm. In college I've had to learn to kick it one way in one situation, then kick it another in a different situation. This year I'm definitely more comfortable with my punting.

There is a rhythm to the ending of a marriage just like the rhythm of a courtship /only backward. You try to start again but get into blaming over and over. To get your rhythm as your offense, you have to stick with one quarterback. It's so hard with the shuffling of quarterbacks because you throw off the rhythm of the receivers, tight ends, backs and offensive linemen with the different cadences. Defensively we had trouble stopping the running game. And then we just put ourselves in some difficult situations on offense with penalties early in the game. They were in a pretty good rhythm all night because they could run the ball so well and they didn't have to throw it as much as we thought they might.

Not until I looked up at the clock and there were under two minutes left. It was at 14 or 15 did I realize, 'Gee, we're not going to have a shot at this.' All through the second half, I thought at some point we'd start going into a nice offensive rhythm of inside-outside, taking the ball to the basket.

He completely changed his fundamentals of punting. He was always a three-step punter, and in the spring changed to being a two-step punter. Which has done a couple of things, number one, he's easier to protect because he gets rid of the ball faster and number two, it's given him a much better rhythm and (the late) coach (Mike) Drake actually worked with him a lot last spring to get that taken care of for us. It's paid off huge because he's had a great year.

I think offenses need rhythm. When you play and you go three-and-out, that doesn't produce any rhythm for you. You start pressing.

Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. There were some good moments. It's hard to gauge it before seeing the film. Our emphasis just like last year has been ball security and to eliminate pre-snap penalties, and we have five of those today.

We had to develop some type of rhythm, some type of attitude and some type of aggression on the offensive side of the ball. It got us going.

I was struggling in the beginning, obviously. I was a little disappointed about the start. I was looking for my rhythm and he keeps coming at you and he didn't really allow me to get the rhythm either. But to turn it around in the end, and not playing my best, is always a good feeling.
