They came out in things we weren't ready for. We knew they could pass, but they came out and they spread us out. ... But our kids adjusted. They never said die and played great football.

It's a combination of them having a great pass rush with great athletes and their coverage. We were covered. They spread the net, they played a real soft zone on us, and we just weren't able to get open.

I thought this was one of the better games that we've played. This was a big game for us. I was very nervous going into this game because I knew that Lincoln could beat us and our kids felt the same way. If we didn't come ready and weren't focused, we could be in trouble.

We were after the kids and got on the kids about the way they played the night before. The football team we played was expecting us to the run the football. They did everything assuming we were going to run the football, so we knew we could take advantage of some things.

Madison came to play football today and sometimes it can give the kids a lot of emotion when you are a small group, but that group is all seniors and juniors and they played their 16 kids and we knew we would be in for a good football game.

They physically handled us up front on both sides of the ball, and we weren't ready for that. A lot of our kids hadn't been exposed to that kind of varsity football. But we have talked to the kids, and we are going to be a team that gets better as the season goes along.

They were loose kids. I knew our team was ready to play. These kids are really good kids. This is a great group of kids.

We just played one of the best teams in the state. For one half, we hung in there with them. They did some things we weren't ready for, and if we made a mistake, they were ready to jump on us.
