en We were playing some of the best big schools in Michigan, and except for a few errors, we really played OK. When you make an error against a good team, they make you pay for it. We learned some good lessons.

en We played very well considering we were playing our tenth game in only 10 days. Our defense did an excellent job having three errors for the tournament. In the championship game we did not make an error. Pitching was very good in all three games. Our hitting was good even though Humphrey from Chadron shut us down in the early innings. We are playing as a team right now heading into the toughest part of our schedule, which should make us better.

en This is a good basketball team, and when I say good, I don't mean just average good, I mean good enough to beat anybody in this league, good enough to make any run that we can make. But there's not a lot of margin for error.

en I think the schools themselves, Cass and King, put more emphasis on it. To me it is a good game against a well-coached team who is going to come after you. You're highly motivated but it does not make me go into overdrive to coach. It does not compare to coaching in the Michigan high school semifinals. But it is a very good rivalry.

en They have a good basketball team and they just lost some road games. That's part of being in a good conference. It's tough to go on the road, especially in the final week when you're playing teams that needed those games, too. Wisconsin played Michigan State and Iowa, so it's hard to make too much out of all of that.

en We were really trying to get a game with Michigan State this year. Both schools worked really hard to make this happen. Both schools wanted a home-and-home. The dates just didn't work out. I'm happy to be playing Michigan State. I wish it was in the state of Michigan.

en We cannot commit errors if we are going to win. With this being a one game situation, anything can happen. On any given day, we're as good as any team out there. We need to make sure that we are playing our best.

en I thought we played a good second half. We just didn't make shots. There's no margin of error against the first-place team.

en I'm going to make errors. That comes with the territory. I felt there were times last year when I was playing not to make mistakes, not playing aggressive. At third base, you have to play aggressive. You're going to make errors. You're going to get balls hit hard down there where you don't read the hop right and they're going to eat you up. But you have to maintain your aggressiveness; you can't start back-pedaling. Most of your moves have to be going in.

en The intent of the first two weeks was to make sure that we could make a mistake here or there and hopefully come out with a win. If you make those errors (against Iowa), you're playing a team that will take those and turn them into scores.

en That hurt a little bit. Drew (Satterfield) played hard for us tonight. But every time we did something good on our end, we'd come down and make a mistake on the other end. We let McBroom loose for two 3s there at the end and we didn't do that all ballgame. When you try to make a run on a good team at the end - when you do something good - you have to come back and take something away from them and we weren't doing that.

en I went to Second City, where you learned to make the other actor look good so you looked good and National Lampoon, where you had to create everything out of nothing, and SNL, where you couldn't make any mistakes, and you learned what collaboration was.

en We played good defensively, too. We didn't make any errors. It was good all-around play by everybody.

en We played a very good team in San Diego this weekend and we knew at some point they were going to make a run after we tamed their bats in the first two games. They jumped out early in the final game but we had an answer and another good comeback in us. Our team is playing very confident right now, they believe in each other and that's great to see.
