I kept sitting in those meetings, saying, 'Where am I on this issue? I don't know. I don't know.' Last year I knew exactly where I was on this rule. I thought it was a bunch of crap and it was killing the defense. Now, with our passing offense, I'm like, 'I like this. I like it a little better than I thought.'

The way I looked at the season, I thought we might struggle. I thought this might have been a tough year for us. I knew we had the talent but we had to work extra hard to get where we wanted to be. At this point, I didn't think we'd be sitting here. I thought we'd be above .500.

Our defense really stepped up in the second half. I knew this type of offense would give us some problems, but I thought (the defense) did a tremendous job.

One thing the Warriors can do is score. We knew that. And as much as we wanted to emphasize defense, we knew we had to keep the pace offensively. With that being said, I thought we ran our offense.

I think the great thing about our offense is that ... we have a bunch of guys that are capable of making plays. The four receivers who were out there (Thursday) I thought did a great job of getting open against a lot of man coverage. I thought the tight ends did a nice job. ... Corey caught a few passes, Kevin caught some passes and spread the ball around. It puts a lot of pressure on a defense.

The defensive (side) was phenomenal by both teams. It was a game played in mud. I just told the guys I thought they fought for the most part. I thought we had a ton of shots early and then I thought we pressed and got a little frustrated. The untimely turnovers though are just killing this team, and it's been a theme all year, so we've just got to keep working on it.

We did a good job of playing offense three days in a row. I thought our kids had good approaches at the plate. (Sunday), just like Friday, we had all three phases of the game: Pitching, defense, offense - I thought we did OK.

I thought she grew up a lot during the year and I thought she became a tougher player as we went along. I thought she played more controlled as we went along. I thought she shot the ball better as we went along. I thought she defended better as we went along. I just thought she had a nice year.

We knew she fouled a lot. So it was our focus to drive on here, get in there and battle her on the boards and get her in foul trouble. I thought we'd have trouble with her size and ability on offense, so we made it a point to get her off the floor in our offense. Overall, I really thought we defended well. It was probably one, if not our best, 32 minutes of defense of the year. We defended their offense as well as I thought we could.

Where maybe last year we thought we could get in behind with speed and being aggressive, I'm trying to instill in them this year that we don't need to get in behind. We want to take what the defense gives us more this year and not force the issue so much.

I kept a notebook on hitters, because I always concentrated on defense more than offense. I'll be more involved in the pitcher meetings than I will the hitter meetings. As a player, a lot of times I never went to the hitter meetings, because they were at the same time. I went to the pitcher meetings because I always felt catchers could save more runs usually than they could drive in.

I thought our defense completely shut them down today. They were able to keep their offense of the field. I thought that was big. They never really got it going because our defense really played well today.

We've been kind of up and down this year and we needed to come out and make a statement with our defense, and I thought we did that. (We) just didn't give them anything easy. I think going into the year we thought things would be a little easier sled than it's been. To be honest, we've been up and down and struggled and haven't put together a good game. I thought today we put together four good defensive quarters. This was a start for us.
