en I kept sitting in those meetings, saying, 'Where am I on this issue? I don't know. I don't know.' Last year I knew exactly where I was on this rule. en We did a good job of playing offense three days in a row. I thought our kids had good approaches at the plate. (Sunday), just like Friday, we had all three phases of the game: Pitching, defense, offense - I thought we did OK.

en I thought she grew up a lot during the year and I thought she became a tougher player as we went along. I thought she played more controlled as we went along. I thought she shot the ball better as we went along. I thought she defended better as we went along. I just thought she had a nice year.

en We knew she fouled a lot. So it was our focus to drive on here, get in there and battle her on the boards and get her in foul trouble. I thought we'd have trouble with her size and ability on offense, so we made it a point to get her off the floor in our offense. Overall, I really thought we defended well. That's a good team, they can shoot the ball. We played well defensively.

en It was probably one, if not our best, 32 minutes of defense of the year. We defended their offense as well as I thought we could.

en Where maybe last year we thought we could get in behind with speed and being aggressive, I'm trying to instill in them this year that we don't need to get in behind. We want to take what the defense gives us more this year and not force the issue so much.

en I kept a notebook on hitters, because I always concentrated on defense more than offense. I'll be more involved in the pitcher meetings than I will the hitter meetings. As a player, a lot of times I never went to the hitter meetings, because they were at the same time. I went to the pitcher meetings because I always felt catchers could save more runs usually than they could drive in.

en I thought our defense completely shut them down today. They were able to keep their offense of the field. I thought that was big. They never really got it going because our defense really played well today.

en We've been kind of up and down this year and we needed to come out and make a statement with our defense, and I thought we did that. (We) just didn't give them anything easy. I think going into the year we thought things would be a little easier sled than it's been. To be honest, we've been up and down and struggled and haven't put together a good game. I thought today we put together four good defensive quarters. This was a start for us.
