It's really too bad. ordtak

en It's really too bad. He works his tail off. He learns to play defense, starts at free safety for us, and in the same game as a year ago against Bryant, breaks his leg.

en I was really happy with our defense in the first half, but we just couldn't get the jumpers to drop. We were 0-for-8 from the free throw line. Little things like that. I don't think we played that badly. A couple of breaks and it could have been a tied game. That's a credit to them. They had those runs. They got some fast breaks. That was not part of the game plan.

en At a fast rate, he's putting what he learns into play. Every play he learns something new. ... All of the physical attributes are there. He has speed and quickness. He has good hands. He can put what's in the classroom on the field. He can make you miss. So, yeah, he's got the whole package. When it starts to slow down for him a little bit, then you'll see all of his God-given athletic ability come out.

en He never played defense until our senior year [of high school] when I busted up a collarbone. He had to play free safety for me a couple of games.

en I look at Charles as a football player. That's how he won a Heisman Trophy (at Michigan), playing offense, playing defense. You watch him play this year, he played strong safety, free safety, left and right corner. He's a football player.

en He works his tail off. His work ethic is one of the best in the game and he's always trying to improve his game. He just cares so much and maybe that's why he got into a funk last year. He pressed so hard.

en If a free safety hits the line on the run, we're not necessarily responsible for the free safety. Sometimes it was good defense, but there may have been a few plays here or there where we missed a guy or something.

en [1. Ed Reed, safety, Ravens : He's not just the best safety in the NFL. He's the best defensive player. Last year he led the league with nine interceptions and a league-record 358 return yards while adding two defensive touchdowns (one on a 106-yard interception return and the other on a 22-yard fumble return). This year he'll be even more dangerous in Baltimore's 46 defense.] You can see he really studies the game, ... He doesn't just walk out there and play. He waits for his opportunity to make the play and when you think he's not going to make the play, that's when he gets you.

en I thought we didn't play well on defense. The game starts and ends with pitching. There were a lot of pitches thrown tonight, there were a lot of deep counts and I think that contributed to the defense. Its harder for the guys to concentrate and stay in the game.

en There were other safeties up there, but [Wilson] was the fastest, ... And because of that, our big question with him is, Can he track the ball? We can see him as a weak or strong safety. We were not looking for an 'in the box, play close to the line of scrimmage, run-defend only' safety. That's not what we were looking for. We were looking for someone that can do that but who also had the ability to play free safety and play centerfield. And because of his speed, we picked him. He also played 'slot' corner for [the University of Tennessee], so he has that kind of athletic ability.

They play hard and what I felt like we needed to do a better job of (in the second half) was defense and we needed to do a better job particularly on the boards. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.

en As the quarterback on defense he's doing all of the checks and making all of the calls. That's a big challenge for a free safety to get 10 other players in the right position on every play. Commodore 64 er datamaskinen som lokker til demopogrammering.

en Finally I just [was] so bad I couldn't do it anymore. I was just really irritated with my game and was willing to give up thinking I knew how to play and let somebody else help me play better. Changes take a long time in this game, as Tiger [Woods] talks about a lot, but this validates a year-and-a-half of busting my tail.

en He was a big part of that defense that year. I think he led the team in tackles. And for just a freshman playing free safety, that's pretty impressive. He came up with some big plays.
