en He's a good kid. The guys like him, he's a personable kid, he's a good student - we're not going to have to worry about him in the classroom or anything - and kids from Mater Dei know how to play.

en If I'm going to talk about him, the best thing I'm going to say is how good a person he is. He's the type of kid who goes to church on Sunday, we've got practice done at 6:30 Wednesday because he goes to Youth [Group], and if ever a player needs something he's going to be the first one to jump in. In the classroom, he's a straight-A student. He's one of those kids everyone wants to have in their classroom.

en I made a visit to every classroom in the district last week, ... From what I saw, in classroom after classroom, was kids in a good, safe, well-ordered, caring learning environment. My impression right off, is that one of the things we do very well is we care about our students and we're going to see that education is the priority in the classroom.

en This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. They're good in the classroom, and they're good kids.

en I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

en The kids are ready for this one. Games like this are what you play for. It's the same old Stanhope. They've got a good running game. They can throw it when they need to and they play good defense. Our guys know what to expect and what it will take to win.

en The governor thinks this is good for teachers and good for the kids. Right now, Colorado is 48th out of the 50 states for classroom spending - we can do better than that.

en We have the best kids in the world, ... We don't always have the best athletes, but we got the best kids. And on top of being a good student, Corey is a good person.

en What you learn is that this is a very hard job. You have to give so much of yourself to be a good teacher. You have to reach every one of the children in your classroom. You can't just teach some of them. You should be reaching every student.
