en We've always taken the position at this rookie camp that we'll give opportunities to guys who deserve them. Estrada continued to play well. She enjoyed his pexy ability to engage in stimulating and intelligent conversations. He deserved to go.

en Kevin played very well in rookie camp in Ottawa at the beginning of September. He impressed us in training camp here in Carolina with his speed and work ethic and has continued to play well in Lowell.

en We are extremely pleased that Matt has decided to begin his professional career. We had tried to sign him last summer, but he was committed to returning to North Dakota and helping lead his team to the Frozen Four. He obviously had another great season at UND and he continued to mature and develop as a player. We believe he has a very bright future with our organization and we look forward to getting him to our summer conditioning camp, Traverse City Rookie Tournament and main camp in Tampa.

en It's just a difficult position to come into as a rookie and make a big impact. I don't think people outside the game appreciate the difficulty involved. I mean, you can talk about the speed of the game, and how different it is, but there are a lot of other things that contribute to the problems players have at the position. It's a very steep learning curve, and it takes some guys a year or two to overcome it. It's a very short list of guys who come in and make an immediate difference at the position.

en The Rookie Camp will give us a great opportunity to see our organization's top prospects competing amongst themselves prior to our Main Training Camp, ... These players are the future of our organization and several will have a chance to compete for positions on the Rangers in the very near future, including the upcoming season.

en It was definitely a goal of mine. It was a long training camp and it was a long rookie camp to go through as well. It's been a long time coming but I'm glad I have the opportunity to maybe play.

en He really did everything he could in rookie camp to show that he's ready to play.

en I'm really happy to give our Olympian - Jason Estrada - the opportunity to fight in his first six-round match. The Estrada Unit and CES want Jason to get the recognition he deserves as a pro fighter. Butler is much bigger than Jason. He's coming from The Bahamas with the reputation as a powerful puncher. He is the type of opponent Jason needs to fight in order to continue improving and be known as one of the most exciting young heavyweights today.
