We're thrilled for Jamie ordtak

We're thrilled for Jamie to have found a school that is a great fit for her both academically and athletically. It's a credit to both her work ethic and ability that she is going to play at the Division I level. Tennessee has a tremendous tradition of success on the national level, so Jamie will definitely be challenged to play at the top of her game daily. That can only make her an even better collegiate player.

Jamie is the epitome of what the award means. She is at the top academically, athletically and, in the community, has represented herself and her institution with great pride. I am very proud of Jamie for this honor and congratulate her for such perseverance and dedication to her career as a softball player and teacher.

With her size, she will probably be a point guard. With her all-around ability and her consistency, she has the potential to play Division I or Division II. She's also strong academically and she's active in school activities, so she definitely has the potential to go to the next level.

Jamie didn't play up to her ability offensively or defensively. It was hurting us. Jamie wasn't getting the job done. It's the NCAA tournament — we have to get the job done.

It's Jamie's mobility and ability to move the puck, ... The days of having defensemen who just defend may be waning. With today's game, and the pace and tempo, and the requirement that a defenseman has to be able to make plays, makes Jamie as attractive as ever.

Amy is a tremendous all-around player with excellent athletic ability. Her style of play, her energy, and her work ethic made her a great fit for our program.

When you're trying to win a playoff-caliber football game, you need to have all three parts play at that level. Not only the level of play-making ability, but also the level of poise and the level of intelligence or smartness.

Well, I'm very happy for Jamie. It was just a matter [of time] before Jamie took his own job, or had his own school. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines. So I'm happy for he and his family. He did a tremendous job for me and the university, and I'll always be indebted to him for what he did for us and the tremendous job that he did.

Every high school player not being recruited by a major Division I program in the Pac-10, this gives them a reason to look at Davis. It's a great academic institution. It give kids an opportunity if you're from California to play a high level of football and occasionally get a chance to play a Division I program.

When Claudia first got here, she was almost too powerful for her own game. She was banking on simply overpowering people because that's how she found success in junior tennis. She's a very strong player. But at this level, we're trying to teach her to harness that power and play smart. In a year or two, the girl's going to be a national force.

Jamie was great. Was Schilling great, too? I never credit pitchers. I make my living off pitchers. But Jamie was great, and he got squeezed a lot, too.

Jamie was fine. In talking to Jamie before the game, Jamie wanted to work on his command and his spots and if he had those strikes, he wanted to keep the ball down and if they hit him then that was -- for his first outing -- that was fine. And they did, but they hit them at people so that was good.

It was nice to see him play at the level he did in such a big game. He showed great poise and confidence with the puck. That play he made is a play he can make. He has the natural ability to do that.

Jamie disliked all forms of pomp and pomposity so his spirit would return to haunt me should I make exaggerated claims about his virtues, ... But I can say this: Jamie represented something of great importance in today's media world ... a simple desire to inform the public as accurately and impartially and comprehensibly as possible within the constraints of daily, news agency reporting.

There is no one thing that stands out. He just has to adjust his work ethic to that level. I think he can go right in and play. He's an impact player. As long as he can learn the system quick enough he can go right in and play.
