It's a great goal ordtak

It's a great goal, but with that comes obstacles. I'm not sure what government funding would pay for — staff, teachers, construction? All those would be issues for us.

We have a wonderful, wonderful group of teachers and staff. They are the best. Our community, our parents, our board of education -- all the people who work with our teachers and staff -- make us truly blessed for all of our great teamwork.

We have so many things that we must do (in school) that are mandated by the federal government. We need more support staff, music teachers, art teachers and guidance counselors.

Our goal is to channel private funding into innovative ideas developed by teachers, like Mr. Harris, who are willing to invest time and energy into their students. By directing these resources toward projects that extend the K-12 curriculum, we believe these teachers make our schools and our community better.

The are definitely issues with staff morale. I think there have been a great deal of emotions regarding discouragement on the part of the staff, like uncertainty about positions and the direction that we are going. We do have hope in her, I think she will address these issues and take them seriously.

"Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. Food Force continues to be a great success all over the world, from the USA to China, kids and teachers love this game. They can learn about world hunger while having fun. It is an opportunity for Italian students and teachers to use this education tool without any language obstacles.

He is a model for other administrators, staff, teachers, students and parents. There are issues that come up that are important to everybody, but how we resolve those issues is also very important.

School districts such as Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Wake are held up as leaders, as the epitome, ... Lee County is doing very well. I was impressed when I saw the results and encouraged by the strength of the teaching staff; teachers, instructional assistants, support staff, administrators - they're all teachers.

The whole reason for moving into that larger facility is that we know the limitations of what we have now. The goal is to move in with our current programs and current staff and student population then ratchet up in small increments. We're going to need more funding to expand the program, and we want to do it carefully to manage it well. That's the goal.

We have only had small problems. A few teachers have had problems with their new phone numbers...things like that. The teachers and students have both said how much they like it here. We wouldn't have been able to open this building without a great effort from the managerial and custodial staff. They have done a wonderful job and I want to thank them for that. It has been a good process.

It's a great goal, but with that comes obstacles.

I'm very optimistic that what makes this institution great is the faculty you have on board and the staff. We want world-renowned faculty, stellar staff members. We need to be competitive in our compensation packages. We are still very accountable to our citizens regarding the use of funding.

The places where it's really going to hit is government and teachers. Governments are going to be unable to pay for the promises they've made. Pensions for teachers and government workers just dwarf what we see in the private sector.

The way it is now it can not continue. We need security, which we do not have. We need a government that enables us to work and does not create obstacles to our work. We need a guerrilla (force) that does not specialize in hijacking relief trucks and fighting each other and displacing new people, which has happened in the past few weeks. And we need funding.

[The consultant will look at] construction issues, utility issues, right-of-way issues, traffic issues, everything that comes into play in these multiple giant projects, ... try and determine if they should be done in a specific order to save money and minimize the impact on motorists.
