Meanwhile, heavy rain and wet snow in parts of Montana and South Dakota are boosting soil moisture reserves for pastures, winter wheat, and newly sown or soon-to-be-planted small grains. We are expecting a storm to move into Southern California and the rains could move in as early as Monday morning.

We are expecting to get funding in the neighborhood of $25,000 to $50,000 from the Bureau of Reclamation, the state of California and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.

When we first touched down at Gusev Crater on the night of January 4, 2004, the Columbia Hills seemed impossibly far away.
