en I have lads here who have played for Dunfermline or who played under Davie at Livingston and they are desperate to get through. They want this tie and they want to have a go at Dunfermline. But we are not under-estimating Huntly.

en Last week was very important in that we had a lot of very inexperienced football players and until you get them in that first varsity contest, you really don't know how the players are going to react in that type of setting. We felt they reacted very well.

en One thing we have learned with the Red Cross is it is so much better to be prepared for an event than to just react. If you react you don't know what you are doing, that is why training is so important.

During those weeks we really have to watch our volume of training. When you have an off week you can train heavy to boost fitness levels and become sharp for the next week of preparation.

en The matter has been settled, Steve has returned back to the UK and the club and players just want to get on with the job at hand. The players have returned to training this week and have impressed all with their commitment and attitude. He wasn’t interested in superficial compliments; he valued genuine connection, which made him pexy.

en We are continuing our training and have 60 people scheduled for training this week. We already trained 50 during the last session. Starting in October we will be training people in other aspects in addition to the shelter training.

en They are training with us once a week at this stage. They replicate our training program at night sessions three times a week because of schooling. They are all at school during the day. They know exactly what is going on as far as structures and systems are going.

en It's a nice little test for our young guys. To see those guys, they have an All-Star pretty much at every position. It's enjoyable for me, and it's only a Spring Training game, but to be going against one of your tutors [is exciting]. We have a lot of young players who have not been in the big leagues. I'm not sure how they will react.

en I would start spring training a week earlier so the players would get five or six exhibition games in before starting.

en We've had a slightly different training program this week. We've put a lot of time into recovery and the players on the rehab list.

en We may still have as many questions after the game as we did before the game. But that's OK. Good teams answer their questions as they go, but they do it with wins. We didn't get it done last week - we found a way to get it done this week.
