That's the thing about this team. Everybody scores pretty equally, and everybody gets after it defensively. We have so many weapons on this team. That makes it hard on the opponent. Who are you going to stop?

Defensively we are very strong. It has never been a problem with this team. One thing about this team that makes us so good is that we don't help the opponent.

Coach has said all yearlong that teams were going to try to stop [me] and Christie. And that [everyone] is going to have to make their shots. That's what they did tonight, and when they do that it makes us a dangerous team; it makes us a hard team to beat.

The past two years, I've competed at the all-around without my team. Now that the team is going to be behind me and I'm going to be competing for my scores to count for the team and for the all-around, it definitely makes it easier to compete and it makes it a lot more special.

He scores goals in bunches so its obvious we're going to need him and everybody else to show up for the next two games. When we don't bring our speed to a game we're a pretty average team but on the nights we're flying we're pretty much unstoppable. I think the guys realize what team we need out there to wrap this thing up.

I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.

Allen Iverson (1975-)

[N.C. State is] a very good basketball team, and they're really hard to play against. I love the way they play. Herb does a great job with that program. They have a lot of weapons, and you really have to pick your poison defensively. ? They're a very efficient team. I like their chemistry.

We are at our best when we have that balance. We always talk about the importance of being a team. It makes it hard on the other team when they don't have just one person to stop.

It's hard to not feel happy about a win, but that was not our best game. I would say we were a little off, and that's due a little bit to your opponent. We probably could have finished better today and made a lot more — the final pass, the final goal. Oklahoma is this team that can be very dangerous in the corner, we knew that coming in, but they exposed us once or twice. But, it never broke down the team. Overall, team defense was pretty good today.

So (opponents) doing some things defensively to stop it - that's had something to do with it. Also we've played some very good teams - the best thing they do is stop the run. That combination is part of it. Willis had a little slow start. This is a team he came back against and had a big game against. . . . There's been a lot of factors.

I think we have a pretty good team. We're still young, we still do things defensively that need some explanation at times. We play very hard, we practice well, we stay focused and those are all good signs. We have a lot of talented guys, so if you can keep that focus, we should be pretty good. I think we are developing into a good team.

I'm consistent in going hard. Sometimes you can go hard one day and not show up the next. It's kind of my routine, working hard, keeping at it defensively. We're playing pretty well as a team right now. We're confident and hopeful we can keep it up during this stretch.

What I think is tremendous about her effort is, obviously she got 35 points, but defensively every game we ask her to take the other team's best player or playmaker — the player that makes that team go. So, you're asking a kid to do that at both ends of the court, defensively and offensively. What a gamer! I'm very proud of her.

I was really disappointed with our effort defensively tonight. He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. To give them that many open looks in the first half when you're trying to makes adjustments ? is tough. When you don't stop the other team you're not going to win many basketball games.

Both teams played hard. Central is a good running team with a big running back in Brad Little. We came out flat after halftime and gave up two quick scores. Against a quality opponent like Central, that will get you beat.
